I was lucky to see DS check his hive for honey. I've never been up close to a hive or the trays that the honey and bees are on!! I was standing 15ft. away when he opened it up but he brought a tray right up to me to see the honey and bees. Boy can't wait till he can get some of the honey! What a neat expreience!!Thanks for looking ![]()

Wow, thank you for sharing this. It's been a long time since I've seen the inside of a hive. My daddy used to raise bees and we had our own honey. In fact, in high school, I was the FFA "Honey Bee" Queen my senior year ve

Wow Neat! Is this the first time he did this? It sure was a good year for all flying insects around here this summer! Keep us posted & tell us more about this! "Those that throw mud, lose ground!" :>)

This is about his 3rd. yr for the bees. 2yr. ago he sent a quart of honey home. It didn't last long it was soooo goood. So different from store bought.

Great pics! Cute son...looks a bit like his Mama! The honey we get at the store may or may not be REAL honey. Some mix other things with it and some mix honies from all over the world together...which ever ones they can get the cheapest. Read the labels! Buy from a local beekeeper when possible. They say that buying local will help us overcome our allergies for that area. You get a little local pollen every time you use it...and build an immunity to the allergic reactions. What a neat picture. Very interesting about different honey types. I will have to get some when I go to a local store that sells both candles and honey.

GaKaren - I graduated in 62...married in 63. I was 18 in April and graudated in May. Guess that makes me older than you huh! Bana - we just had our 50 yr class reunion, so you know finding that picture is going to take some doing. When I get time, I will prowl through momma's big box of loose pictures...or if I can find my senior annual. Apparently I've hidden the annual from myself..couldn't find it for the class reunion either. ve

Thanks Karen. I think he nice looking. He looks a lot like his Dad too. Lot taller than me VE hope you do find the yr. book! I'd love to see the pic too. You gals aren't much older than me. Born in 46 I've heard if you eat honey from your area it will help with sinus and allergies. Wondered if it helps.

Cool photo! I love fresh honey. I remember my Dad brought some home in a huge jar with some of the comb inside. Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can't..... You're Right - Henry Ford

VERY cool! Honey for you folks and pollinated crops for everyone else! That's great all around. BTW, there's more than 1 queen bee? I always thought there was only 1 at a time, but I guess that if he has more than 1 bee house, each might have a queen?
