I have a bunch of old windows that I picked-up roadside while junking. Thought they would be good for craft projects but they're only 2 panes. All are solid and no broken glass.

Had an idea and would like input. Haven't been able to have in-ground tomatoes for several years... GROUNDHOGS, UGH!! Thinking of building a "box" with the windows... no lid, not like a cold frame. Would this work? I know it would be nice and warm. Would be in an area of my yard that gets a lot of sun from about 10 to at least 3-4 each day.

a topless greenhouse?... sounds good ... I just wonder if the glass being too close would scorch the plant's leaves?.... kinda like in winter, sunlight thru the house windows?.... magnified, sorta?....how big can you make it?.... if you're going to go that route, might just as well build the whole greenhouse!!... *smile*....

Thought there'd be extra heat. Think I have 8-10 windows. Original thought is 1 deep and3-4 long. It'll be right up against my low deck (only about 2' off ground). Will have to have a front AND back or groundhogs will just go the the "salad bar" from under the deck. If heat seems too much, guess I could sorta white wash the front??
