I've seen on a lot of people's houses that face the north something that is a brighter green always towards the bottom of the siding...is that moss?? I don't have it on my house, but I have noticed it on the outside of my flower bed that is on the north side of the house! There is an area that I had cleared off when doing the bed, so where the border is and where the grass starts again, there was just dirt, and that stuff is growing there. Also, I noticed the bottoms of the cedar pillars on the north side of the house are starting to get green!
What is it exactly, and is there a "trick" to getting rid of and/or preventing it??
It probably is moss. My neighbor has it on the front of his house. He tried everything last year, even painting the bricks--nothing worked. Guess you just have to live with it.
