So pretty, Sorie! Your hanging baskets are going to be gorgeous when they fill out. Be sure to post another picture when they do, ok?

I planted impatiens in wire baskets with spaghnum moss similarly this year. They are still looking puny, but I'm looking forward to them filling out!

I love that purple flower posted just after the basket photo. What is that? Also, your lamium looks nice and healthy. I have a couple of patches of it as ground cover and I really like it. They say it's invasive, but I need it to spread, so (for now) I don't mind!

Beautiful pics! Thanks for sharing!!

Sorie, I really like those hanging baskets..neat idea. I seem to have problems with lobelia too........wonder what our problem is? By the end of summer those baskets are going to be so full the planter won't be visible.....every container gardeners goal!!

The rest of your garden is really going to be pretty when it fills out. I think your mystery plant is a gerber daisy.

Thank you

Love the hanging basket idea! It will be so full! I have never seen such happy lamium! Must like getting some sun.

The delphenium is gorgeous! It doesn't like our humidity.

Thanks for sharing!

It all looks sooo pretty!
You were right, the delphenium is going to be fantastic & BIG! I love the color of it...but I don't think they grow down here...like Patty said, humidity!

Sorie, was it hard to make the holes in the plastic hanging planter without cracking? How did you do it and how big were the holes? It is going to look fantastic!
I can't grow dels out here, too much wind and they are so top heavy but so beautiful!
I don't have much luck with lobelia or with lamium even. I know the lobelia likes things shady and I just don't have much shade! those look great.
The one flower you asked about looks like a Gerbera......they are sure pretty.

Thanks everyone.
ladeuce cutting the basket was pretty easy DH said. He used his drill with a hole blade. He did crack one a little but you can't even see it. The holes are about 1 1/2" across.
They've really filled in since I planted them.
The white one is a self watering. Got it at WM.
The lamium is on the northwest side of the house and gets afternoon sun. It has always done well there.

Ok, so here's the question of the day:

Why is Sorie10 also Silly Bird????

Anyone care to speculate? Perhaps she has a split personality...wonder which one is the ev*l one??? Or, maybe she woke up one morning with amnesia and couldn't remember what name to enter into her HGTV account? Or, could it be something even more sinister????

C'mon Sorie10/Silly Bird/Whoever-you-decide-to-be-tommorrow....spill!

PS: You know I'm only kidding, right? We love you--all both of you!!! Big Grin

Really pretty!

You would think they could come up with a better name than "Dead Nettle" for such a beautiful plant! Look how pretty those flowers on it are!

Is that an upside down wine bottle in the 4th picture? Smile

I love lobelia but I have never been able to keep it going all summer. I know that garden centers put it in a lot of different containers because it has such a great color, but I wonder if anyone on the board has been able to keep it going for the season. Once it gets hot here, mine will die out whether it's in the sun or in partial shade. Absolutely love your delphinium, I bought some new plants this year but in the past I haven't been able to keep it going in my bed. The yellow flowers look like gerbera daisies, to keep them blooming it helps to deadhead them.

I'm both because I tried one time when I was on my laptop to get on here and it wouldn't let me so signed up while on the laptop (Silly bird). So depends which computer I'm on. Sorry to confuse everyone!
I like having a split personality :-))
I have those pots hanging on the east side of the house so hope they won't die!! I love the color!
mydog yes it is a wine bottle. It's on a knitting needle. I've got lots of blue bottles throughout my garden. My friend saves the bottles for me.
I do dead head the daisy and it comes up every yr. I didn't know it was pernnial! Thanks

She used to be just plain old Sorie too! Big Grin

And for several years I was "old Karen"....until hgtv messed up my account & couldn't fix it so I had to sign up again with a new name cause even though no one could access my old account, it still said that name was in use! ((eye roll))

Sorie, I actually figured it was something like that, but the conspiracy theory is kinda fun to play around with, too! Wink

Karen, I remember when that happened to you, but I do like ga.karen better! "old Karen" is just so.....well....."old"!!! Razz

I'm glad to get to see how the hanging baskets are filling in. It looks like they are going to work out well!

This is my first year doing lobelia. I've got it in a big pot on the porch. We'll see how that goes but so far so good.

I've never seen a delphinium that heavy with blooms, I love it...does it have a particular name? Your yellow mystery flower is a Gerbera Daisy. Everything is so pretty.
