A ruby throat was reported at Dauphin Island yesterday. Sure seems early, but I guess its not. Don't think I'm ready to put a feeder out just yet, though.
Something has been hitting one of my feeders today. I've haven't physically seen it but the feeder has gone down about 3/8" since early this morning. I won't report one until I actually see it with my eyes though. Since I had those 2 that over-wintered, I have 2 feeders that have been out all winter. I guess I'll be doing that from now on. They don't take the feeders down as fast during the winter months...so not so much work to keep up with them....and not as many birds is likely why.
ETA...looks like one was reported around Tallahasse yesterday too! This message has been edited. Last edited by: ga.karen,

Someone else really, really close to me reported one today...they won't put up 2 that close together...so I guess it's next year for me to get on the map again. Yep, they are headed north!

Ok, where are they????????? Someone in Jacksonville has one, someone in lower Al. has one and some look like they are going up the Mississippi River. Barb, do you have your feeders out yet???

Looks like they are north of Birmingham and they are north of Savannah on the border between Ga./S.C.! So it won't be long until they hit Tenn. Remember, if you see one, report it. Even if it doesn't go on the map the info is used in research & tracking them.

Just checked the map for last year. There were scouts up north at this time last year. They will be up later or all at once....GF told me we are due for more cold (teens?) beginning of next week. Hope she's wrong.
