That Wait!!!
I was surprised to see that the apple seeds in my refrigerator have just started to sprout!!! They have only been in the frig. for 3 MOS.! Patience IS a virtue! Wink Big Grin

Cool, I wish I could grow apples. There must be some variety that can take Florida mild winters and still produce.

Wavy congrats, how did you know to sprout the seeds in the refrigerator? I never heard of that method.

Zone9alady, Does your area of Florida have 200 - 300 hours of temps below 45 degrees? If it does you can grow apple trees that will produce fruit. You need to find low chill varieties in order for the fruit to form. Here's a link to Dave's Garden website with a guide for choosing apple varieties for Florida -

Thanks still tryin! Some years we have very cold winters but the last two have been pretty warm. It's the end of January and we haven't had a hard freeze yet! It looks like spring around here. Confused

I always see young apple trees at Lowes or HD, so I hope they are selling appropriate varieties for this location, if not, people are just wasting their money.
