Sigh...that was back when I actually WATCHED HGTV. Everything that brought us all together is no longer around. No money in them, eh?

Summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine...

I enjoyed her show too, along with many other garden shows they have since done away with; Gardener's Diary, Gardening by the Yard, which I believe was everyone's fav, Ground Breakers, Landscape Smart etc. I really don't watch HGTV that much anymore...maybe a HH or HHI.

I remember her too...a meteorologist? Paul James was a science teacher, I think?
How interesting one of his classes would have been.
I miss all those garden shows like the ones z9alady posted.
Now when they do show them on occasion, they are just old repeats. They were showing GBY last fall along with some others at 6:30 est, but those are gone again.

I saw Rebecca Kolls on PBS several times, never on HGTV, and was impressed with her organic gardening methods especially since they were not the accepted standard for most TV gardeners.

i think most of us remember Rebecca, Paul James, Erica Glasener, just to mention a few. I miss all of their shows about gardening. I don't watch hgtv anymore, since they don't have gardening shows.
I do belong to this forum and I know that anytime there is a chance of a gardening show, i'll find out about it here.

I used to enjoy her shows and made sure to make time for them to watch, since this was before DVR. I really miss gardening shows on regualr TV now but found an SFG forum that keeps me happy and of course, on utube there is John Kohler's GrowingYourGreens and Ray's Praxxus TV channels all about gardening and even Luke's MIGardener and EricRochow's GardenForkTV. They all post new videos quite often. I have to have my gardening fix from somewhere.

I do NOT remember her!! I remember watching "Square Foot Gardening" many, many yrs., or maybe it was "Victory Garden". (decades ago actually) GULP!!! Eek and any other random Gardening Shows I happened to catch. Yrs. ago, I did not have CABLE TV and therefore, did not watch "HGTV" or "TLC" (my other favorite channel.) (How DID I survive this long, pray tell???) I did watch MANY cooking shows too, on Ch. 13 ~ yrs. ago!! (although I never liked cooking ever, weird, right??!!) Roll Eyes Confused

I remember her as well as Erica Glasener, who brought such grace and variety to the gardening programs. I was especially fond of the episode featuring a man named Pearl who had taught himself to become a master topiarist. Those shows were some of the best I've seen on gardening, and I really miss them.

Asiaticlily, I remember that episode also! I enjoyed watching Erica Glasener as well. I particulary enjoyed a segment on Rebecca's Garen where she visited 2 gardens in Charleston - a small one & a larger one.

I remember her. I used to watch her show. She had an episode where she said if you planted spearmint in in 5 gal. containers and placed them in the ground with bottoms cut off you could contain the plants so they wouldn't spread. I did that but it didn't work for me. Still I enjoyed her shows. Wasn't her ending tag line "Go out and get your hands dirty"?

I'd forgotten how many wonderful episodes used to be on HGTV until reading this thread. I really, really miss those programs. They were truly intended for those of us who love gardening but can't afford thousands of dollars for waterfalls and expensive landscaping.

For anyone who's interested in Pearl Fryar and his topiary, here's his site:
