It wasn't dark at 7:30 am here. But it starts to get lighter finally around 6:15 AM. It was cloudy the last few days. The darkness is creeping up on us, then we turn the clocks back to make it even darker....Frown
I remember visiting Arizona in the summer many yrs. ago. We went into a store when it was light out, and when we came out, it was pitch black! Never saw anything like that in my life!!! (how does it get so dark about 20 minutes later??) I never forgot that and it was yrs. ago! Lots of stars I think too.

I think it is the time zones....Joy is way out there...I think she's in the Mountain Time Zone.

I haven't noticed too much in the mornings, but can definitely tell that nighttime is coming earlier and earlier.

I've noticed the mornings. The bus picks up the kids next door at 6; is just getting good light then. I'm also noticing the earlier dark in the evenings. No more daylight until 9pm., we are pretty dark by 8pm now.

It's becoming more noticeable here too that the days are getting shorter altho when I woke up at 5 this am it was starting to lighten up. According to the weather network our sunrise today was at 6:32 and sunset will be at 7:50pm. Being this far north we have long days in the summer but short in the winter. In the depths of winter sunrise will be around 8am and sunset around 4:30pm.

The length of days depends on how far one is from the equator where the day and night are about equal length year round. Near the poles the sun never sets in the summer and in the winter is never seen. Years ago in July in northern Norway I took a pic without flash at 11 pm.
