I got alot of weeds in my dormant bermuda and was wanting to try getting some of it out before spring.any recommendations for a good weed picker?

Hands, knees, and one of those forked weed pickers, that tend to lift the weed up without disturbing surrounding areas too much.

Yup, hands & knees. I do have a dandelion picker, tho. I like that...

Hands and knees and if its small, thumb and index finger.. if its big.. whole hand. Can't let DH near garden..he has not only a black thumb, its black right to the shoulder.

Hands!..on my knees for small areas, bent over for large ones.
Wanna come dig up all my bermuda? I HATE this stuff! It's horrible, gets into everything, spreads both above & below ground, roundup won't kill it even with multiple sprayings. If you dig or pull it out but leave even one little node, it will return!

This weed puller has got to be the lightest of its kind on the market - it has four metal serrated teeth at the bottom of the sturdy-looking pole and I expected it to be heavy to handle but far from it, my elderly mother could manage this with ease. My garden has a patch where common chickweed, creeping buttercup, wild carrot and dandelions thrive so I was eager to try this gadget out because for me, weeding is a thankless, back-breaking exercise. I couldn't get the hang of this right away (my fault) but it's actually simplicity itself, you just surround the centre of the weed with the lopper-like teeth at the end of the pole, press your foot down on the pedal, angle the pole towards you and pull. Hey presto, the weed comes out without the need to pull any straps/levers. I didn't realise at first that you have to angle the pole when you lift it out of the soil/grass otherwise the teeth don't grasp the weed.
Now for the best bit, to eject the weed from the teeth you just slide the orange cuff in the middle of the pole downwards - it glides very, very smoothly - and the weed is expelled. The sound that the 'slider' makes is very like that on a pump-action shotgun in a movie and I love it - childish, I know, but hey, weeding is a very boring job and it made it fun! My soil is heavy with clay and the clumps attached to the teeth around the root of the weed were easily ejected and left the teeth clean and ready to use again on the next weed. You do need to fill the hole left after the weed has been removed but you have to do this anyway no matter which method you use to pull the weed.

Patti I would but he doesn't even like doing it here and I have to keep a close eye on him. To him, weeds and unbloomed flowers all look the same!

He does it because I get lazy toward mid-summer.

I wait until after a soaking rain & go out with a screwdriver...LOL most come right out!

William, are you waiting for someone to ask the brand of the tool you are using? If so, don't bother as I've got you pegged as a spammer even tho you have not "so far" posted links. If you prove to NOT be a spammer I'll owe you an apology but I've read all your posts and there is something off with all of them.

Back to the original question. Since I went organic I no longer want to call my lawn by that name as it's now full of dandelions, yarrow, and other plants. I'd need a large crew of gardeners to pick the weeds out and the seeds just keep blowing in on the wind since I live on a large acreage. There is something actually freeing about not worrying about every weed in my 'grass' and yarrow is quite soft to walk on. Now my garden is another story and weeds there are not tolerated. I pull small weeds by hand, use a scuffle hoe, or for larger weeds that have escaped my attention a pitchfork to loosen the soil and get all the root.

as for the weed question... I'm partial to my mattock with the three prongs on the one side... that loosens up any ground and then I can pull the offensive weed with little problem....
