Congrats to you northern girls on your daffys. Ours have been blooming several weeks now...as well as the grape and regular hyacinths. Those daffs are welcome spurts of color aren't they.
Yep, I'm going to have some color in my garden, too..... white! Maybe another foot tomorrow!
They are a welcome sight! And only one hyacinth came up but I know there were more. Where did they go!!!
jmchab, I wouldn't have minded some snow a couple of months ago but not now. Is that typical in your area? This message has been edited. Last edited by: theoriginalfluffy,
I'm about to have more color...the wisteria are starting to pop, I have buds on one of my columbines, the flowering quince are popping (not mine VE, but it's still green), dogwoods are going, azaleas are either full out or starting to drop blooms, I see growth on the hydrangeas, the male birds are chasing the females and we have at least 2 hummers. And all 6 of my hour glass hummer feeders are out.
Oh, and my latest daffs have a couple of blooms while the mid ones are about done.

Fluffy,It's normal for New England/NH but not March. We usually are gearing up for spring. This year is too much snow this late in the season. Great ground cover but I want green grass and crocus popping up.Did see my hellebore earlier in the week-now I think it's frozen its patootie off. This message has been edited. Last edited by: jmchab,
We have pear trees out our master bath window. They've had green buds showing forever. We had four 50-60 degree nights with 60-80 degree days. Overnight the trees turned into snowballs with all the white blooms!
I did the usual "look out the window" that I do every morning. WOW! What a beautiful surprise.
It will be near freezing in a couple of nights. I love my northeast Texas weather. Heater in the morning, ac/ in the afternoon...or vice versa.
Does this hat make my butt look big?
