Just want to tell everyone in the path to stay safe! And please take all the precautions you can!

Looks like we might get a good dose of it here at our place. I'll be busy the next couple of days getting different stuff prepared!

Today's weather station predicts early Tuesday Isaac will be going into Florida to DS's home straight on at 100 MPH, category 2. Hope it slackens off!!!

Yes, everyone please stay safe......Karen, I hope that you don't have any damage.

We are hoping to get some much needed rain out of Issac......it's getting dry here. Maybe it will just become a tropical storm.

Heard from FFG earlier today, they are putting up their storm shutters & heading out...she's in the Mobile, Pensacola area.
Has anyone heard anything from zone9? Sounds like she might get flooded again beside wind damage.

I've been outside most of the day putting stuff away or securing it in some way. I laid all my totems down and I'll put all my potted plants close to a wall before Isaac's arrival...and take the bird bath bowls off their pedestals.

Why is it that men don't think something that weighs less than 10 lb. can become air born???

This old body is hurting tonight...good thing I fixed tonight's supper yesterday! And I need to go fix our side dishes now!

Most of the shutters are up, only a couple of windows left. We'll finish gathering the few things outside and plan to leave tomorrow morning. We have several routes to our destination, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Take care.

Stay safe and batten down the hatches! We are just having a normal hot humid August day and hoping for rain, but if we are lucky we'll get a brief shower not the deluge that's coming your way!

FFG, drive careful!

Amaryllis...can you leave?

I may have done all the work around here for naught. They keep moving Isaac further west away from me. At least a bunch of clean up gone done faster than normal! Roll Eyes

Wishing all my buddies in Hurricane Issac's path a very safe journey through it. Please excuse my ignorance, but I didn't realize you have to "evacuate" every time there is a hurricane. I guess if there is very heavy rains and flooding you must. Good Luck!!! We had "Hurricane Irene" last year but it was downgraded to a Tropical Storm I believe, by the time it reached us. But, we're not Florida, which is known for Hurricanes. My thoughts and prayers are with ya'll and hope to see you back here soon, telling us it wasn't 'that' bad (crossed fingers).

Amaryllis, hang in there and be safe.
Wavy, the communities in danger of huricanes will issue a mandatory evacuation if its necessary. Otherwise, it's up to the individual.

The path now is up the Mississippi river. I'm 2 parishes west of the river, Terrebonne.
Just spent 3 hours securing stuff and putting all my potted plants in the plant room.

We plan to stay home, have an elevated house, have stayed home for most hurricanes in a shrimp boat. Don't have the boat anymore and this will be the first time in the house since is was elevated in 2006.Here's hoping it stays a small storm.

I just called my three sisters in Louisiana. They are a little west of New Orleans but are taking precautions as well. Five friends in New Orleans, Biloxi and 1 in Pensacola just bought a new home.

Hope everyone stays safe and experiences no damage....we just got lucky here in central Florida this time.

With the shift westward, we're staying put at home. We're NOT in a flood zone, the shutters were already up and we've got food, water, etc. I'll putz in my sewing room most of the time trying to just keep busy.

All you folks further west, take care and hope you're safe.

This is the strangest thing! We are in the path of the hurricane and we're 300 miles from the coast. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO EXPECT! I have been told, by the weather channel, that we may get some rain and stong winds and that will be all. I hope that's all we get! I hate surprises!

Stay Safe Everyone!

We have been getting constant rain today. It's the tail part of the storm that covers FL from one end to the other.

My thoughts are for all of you dealing with it too.

Barb, from the looks of the map, you can expect winds of 30mph more or less and RAIN. There will be some heavy thunder storms or not and always the threat of tornados or not. Just keep you eyes/ears peeled to your local weather stations to know what is coming.

We are getting about all we are going to get. It is more windy right now than it has been all day..10-20mph. We got light rain off/on most all day. It looks like the rest will go north of us. I doubt if we even got 1" of rain.

All of you in the path...keep alert, keep informed and please be careful!!!!!!!! Group Hug

We're about to get our first real band of weather. Been sunny most of the day but a little blustery. We'll be fine, though. Not near the water or in a flood zone.

Hi all, a short report on Isaac. Well the eye passed over my small town and stalled for over half a day. That was the best place for it to pass. west of me would have meant flood waters and that horrible outer wall of non stop winds. Got electricity on Thursday night and phones and internet Sunday afternoon. all we had to do was rake the yard. So thankful for that. The winds did howl during the storm before the eye and it was during the night. Now cleaning the yard and will put all the plants and other stuff back in their place.Watching TV brings back flash backs of storms that brought flood waters here. Hope the best for everyone going thru this.

We got 2 1/2 inches of rain last night and the wind was blowing pretty good. I'm hoping this is the tail end of Isaac.
We only got rain and strong winds. No damage to speak of, well that's us, I don't know about anyone else. We lost power several times last night, but the power was only out for a few seconds, each time.

Toots, turned out to be not much at my house. Only 2 1/2 inches of rain and gusts of about 35 mph. Didn't lose power at all, thankfully.
