I am with you 16paws. I am not enjoying the cold weather but am enjoying sitting inside. It is bitter cold outside but as long as I don't have to go out I am alright. Sadly that will end tomorrow morning as I make my way to work for 5 days, maybe more.

I got 3 or 4 in the mail today but I already had a stack by my recliner in the LR. I really need to sit down & do some looking. Then I will need to count $ $ $!

Well, I'm just going to enjoy winter as I worked so hard last spring, summer, and fall on my garden that I feel I deserve a rest! LOL I'm not ready yet to start onto the gardening treadmill.

What I will enjoy doing in January and February is planning the changes I will make in my garden.

It's snowing right now, big fat snowflakes. But they only predict a few inches this time. I hate the cold weather and dislike the winter because it is SO L O N G. I wouldn't mind if it warmed up in early March, but it doesn't here. It's never 'planting weather' when spring arrives. I like the holidays in winter and that's about it. I am afraid of the ice and snow, very slippery and hard work shoveling.
I like springtime a lot. I didn't always like spring, (used to love autumn)but since I am a newbie gardener, now I love it! Wink

It's unusually cold here too. In the forties where I am and the TWC is reporting snow in nearby areas. Stupid question on my part. - How cold does it have to be for it to snow? I'm in Los Angeles and haven't lived where it snows in a long time.

We have had lows of 32 degrees and some of my plants turned brown. I have to find some new plants that can withstand freezing in winter and frying in summer and rain only in late fall and winter.

It has snowed when it was warmer than 32 deg. but it doesn't STICK!!! The snow in the front of my house is all gone now, but I still have snow in the backyard, on the deck & grass. It's so weird. The sun was out yesterday and it should have all melted already, but didn't. Now its below 32, so I doubt it will melt today. Beau - WOW-WEE, yes, I am definitely waiting at the bus stop, don't be LATE! It's very cold here, wanna trade? ENJOY!!!! Big Grin

My little pansies have held on through some pretty cold temps this winter. I've been in the garden filling feeders and deciding where I'm going to begin plugging bulbs. Difficult to walk past those blooming bulbs in Kroger, but haven't bought any. Am looking to expand my space this spring and trying to find additional fencing. I used Lowes Item # 30657/Model 90488 Garden Treasures Heart Wall Trellis and painted them black to go with my iron gate. Lowes.com no longer carries them and if any are to be found they say it will be in old stock in individual stores. If anyone ever runs across any panels in the trellis section of the garden department give me a holler. I can get them to ship to my store. Thank you right there with you counting the days.
