For those of us who might be stuck inside due to the crappy weather...

quote:
It appears that there is confusion among consumers as to the difference between “cowpeas” and “Southern peas.” The answer is simple; there are no differences, they are one in the same. However, these so-called “peas” are not really peas at all but beans.

I thought the article was rather interesting.

Interesting. We don't plant any thing green to eat. DH says green stuff gives him hives ;-)
Karen what kind of weather are you getting?
DH has to stay in here because the smoke from the fires near FT. Collins. Terrible!! Poor folks have lost their homes!1

Interesting. I did not know that a pea was really a bean! I do know why they are called "cow peas". It's because originally they were raised as fodder for livestock!

Birdie - never heard of green things giving you hives.......that does limit your veggie intake doesn't it. I found out a few weeks ago that I should not be eating raw cabbage (cole slaw) or raw broccoli because I take a thyroid med. Seems these two veggies along with some others have an enzyme that goes against your thyroid. Bummed me out because I do love my cole slaw.

Never too old to learn! Wink

We have been cloudy, rainy, HUMID, and it got up over 90º yesterday with that humidity. I did something I don't normally do. I dried my clothes in the dryer instead of hanging them out. The humidity was so high they wouldn't have dried since there was NO SUN either. Supposed to be about the same today too.
I'm just glad we didn't get the floods that FFG's area got. Pensecola was SWAMPED!
Yes, your fires are bad and I'll bet your DH is suffering too. Need to go on vacation NOW?...to get him away from all that smoke?

Some men can come up with some really lame excuses! My DH used to blame everything on a cat we had, Billybob, until poor Billy passed on. Then he didn't know what to do! Now we have cats again...so guess who gets blamed for everything AGAIN! ((eye roll))

My DH used to blame our boys for wearing his t-shirts or other articles of clothing (which they never did!). If he couldn't find something in his drawer, it was always, "Jason must have it" or "Josh must have it". It was maddening, because if I looked, I could usually find it right there in his drawer, or it was in the laundry or something.

Now, the boys are 27 & 30 and have been long gone from home. When he's missing something, I'll say, "Hmmm, Jason must have it!" Wink Big Grin
