great pictures Shook, clear, vibrant & focused! Ditto, what kind of camera did you get? Your mystery plant is achillea, a form of yarrow. Beautiful isn't it. ve

Oh dear, I only know that it's a cannon. DH bought it (he's the photographer in our family). Some of the coloring in the shots look like Andy Warhol's psychedelic paintings. Must have been the wrong setting. Vera, you're right about my mystery flower! This message has been edited. Last edited by: shook29,

Loved each and every one of them, Shook! Your mandavilla plant made it through your PA winter? Is it in a container?

Your new camera takes great pics! I don't mind the large pictures either. There are no gardening mistakes, only experiments. Janet Kilburn Phillips

SSTR, the mandevilla is in a pot. I cut it back in the fall, brought it in, and put it in front of a south window. It looked pathetic all winter, but is full and thick now!

Very pretty flowers and great new camera, enjoy it!!! I love Mandevillas, my neighbor always has them on his front porch. How do you 'overwinter' them? I once brought in a plant from outside and shortly thereafter, I saw two crawling caterpillars in my kitchen. I freaked out and took the plant back outside & left to die. (Yes, I felt very guilty) How do you make sure you got rid of all the overwintering random bugs and possibly their EGGS? What do you do to insure no bugs are 'overwintered' in the pot as well?

Very pretty, I just love seeing closeups...my favorite for flowers. Whether You Think You Can Or You Think You Can't..... You're Right - Henry Ford

Wavee, I treated it with Bonide systemic insecticide. I think that took care of any random pests since I didn't see anything on it all winter.
