I know there was discussion on here last year about this 'bulb' but I can't remember the 'real' name to search for it . Someone had even posted pix of their flowers. A friend shared some bulbs with me last fall, I misplaced them . IF I find them again can I still plant them and would they do anything this year? Also, where do they need to be planted????

Lycoris is the scientific name for many of them, there may be others that share the same common name, I'm not sure. Lycoris radiata is the one I have, it blooms red.
If you can find them, I would go ahead and plant them (nothing to lose there). They do need to get some sun so plant them where they'd get some.
GA, thank you for the prompt reply. Those you linked me with are beautiful! I am in zone 5 so those won't work for me to buy but I'll certainly be looking for the ones I have and try to add to them!!

Try looking for amaryllis belladonna. These are the ones that make leaves all summer then die back and the flower stalk appears in fall with pastel pink blooms like amaryllis only smaller.
When first planted, they make take a few years before they bloom. Plant them with one-third of the bulb above the ground.

Thank you amaryllis, that sounds how she described her plants. So if I find mine and plant them soon you don't think I will have blooms this year due to the shock? And do they need full or partial sun do you think? I'll also google the plant....

Here are three eBay n aked ladys by 3 different sellers showing photos and giving a small amount of information. I don't sell I just thought it would be an easy place to look. I have them growning here and they are doing fine. # 140230573935 10 Surprise Lily bulbs ***** Ladies Bulb Lady FLOWERS
Mine are planted around a palm tree. I have a clump on the east side and one on the west side of that palm tree. They both bloom. They both get full to part sun, one the morning sun and one the afternoon sun.

Mine are fully grown right now and doing great. I know they will "die" soon .... meaning the green leaves will fade and disappear. Later the pink lilies will appear.
If someone would like some I will happily send them some IF they can tell me the time to dig and mail. I would LIKE to do it NOW. They are hogging space in my "real" lily patch.

nancymo, I'd love to have any bulbs you'd want to share as well and I will try my very best not to misplace them like my original ones but I don't know when to dig them up either.....I'm guessing after they bloom too.
