Do you recommend taking my big gallon sized roses or my smaller sized potted clems and up potting them this first season? This DOES mean putting them in a pot a size larger than they are in now, putting them into the new sized pot, add soil around the plant and the hole with the bonemeal, then next year taking them out, and putting them into the ground? I don't mean to make this so hard on everyone, I just want to do it right. They really need to get into the ground this week, and I have the tiller to help me make the beds better.....

See, FM, I tend to do that to everyone I know or meet up with Last year JEANNE had talked about up potting my clem and I can't remember if that was because it was getting late in the season or that is how she does all of her plants. So before I plant all these I have I just wanted to make sure. I am REALLY good at making things confusing or harder than they need to be.....sorry.....

You potted them up because their root systems were too small...and you let them grow better roots to plant THIS SPRING...Now get out there and go to work girl..LOL...Jeanne
UH OH, I got caught here on the puter taking a break!!! Thanks for the explanation, JEANNE, I am on my way back outside now and fixing those beds for the plants......hopefully the weather will stay good so they get put in the ground this afternoon.

Connie, what part of Co are you in? I'm in the south east corner....zone 5b, dry, hot and windy or dry, windy and getting frost!! Doesn't seem to be able to make up it's mind what is going to happen. I am very leery of trying to plant very much yet due to the frost we've been having but I have had to buy the plants from the nursery as they are selling out. I hope they will survive till they get in the ground!
