Everyone in this storm's path, please check in so we know you are ok. So far so good here...but we may get some tonight or in the morning. VE, are you ok up there?

The weather is just west of us right now. Don't think we'll get anything more than some thunderstorms, I hope, I hope. And the line isn't very wide so it shouldn't last too long for us. Now you, Karen, could have a long night. Stay safe.
FFG, I was just looking at the map and came to ask if you were ok! Glad everything is good for now...you stay safe too! It's getting really windy here now.
Hope LuvRPups & her family are doing ok in the Atlanta area. Looks like they are getting the wide path of the worst! This message has been edited. Last edited by: ga.karen,

Turned out to be not much here. A few good rain showers and several thunder boomers. No wind to speak of and its all gone now. We're good. Hope everybody else is safe tonight.
Poor Muddy! Please let me know the progress of your snow storm! Here's praying that you don't get too much of the white stuff and it passes quickly maybe out west.... Everyone in this storm's path, please stay INDOORS ~ safety first! I saw the storm is headed towards NJ. However, I still have no idea if they are talking about snow or rain!? I really hope is just a lot of RAIN. NO SNOW, NO SNOW, NO SNOW......
Our wind has gotten over 10-15mph...it has picked up since around 10am. But still not dangerous unless it loosens some trees due to the wet ground. We got 2" of rain yesterday & last night!
Muddy, I hope you have plenty of groceries & toilet paper. And I'm glad the fireplace is clear now in case you need to use it for heat! Stay safe & warm!

I did get out to the store so stocked up. I am worried about my son who is probably trying to get home as we speak! Big flakes blowing past the window now! Think Level One Alert just posted. Hope I covered all the right plants in my garden! :>) Toooooo late now!
Got 4 inches of snow--we closed the office and came home. The storm is not going to be as bad as predicted since it should end later tonight. Thought I would just take a nap for an hour and ended up sleeping all afternoon.

The snowflakes were very large at first but gradually diminished! A bit worried if we will have ice in the morning? This message has been edited. Last edited by: muddyshoes,
Glad everyone sounds like they're OK. We are due for it tonite. 4-8" supposedly. Will check when I awake in the a.m. Will play it by ear as far as work goes......If it's too bad sometimes I start out then just turn around and go back home. We got a dusting for Christmas which was fine..sure made traveling a bit easier...
We got 6 inches. 2 inches shy of what was expected. I was out doing returns, and was heading home just as the flakes began to fall. Not thrilled about it, but the skiers are extatic.

Me too! Glad everyone is safe and glad it hasn't been as bad as they were saying! VE, when I posted that there were red/yellow patches on the radar map all around your area. And they had been warning about tornados for a few hrs. when I saw it.

Just curious, what plants do you cover in your garden? I didn't know you cover plants in the wintertime. I thought you either ~ bring them inside or they 'wing it'.
Most of mine 'wing it'. But I do protect my hydrangeas...lost blooms a few years ago due to a late spring frost. I think Muddy has a few that are more tender.

I have found increased success with my two liter bottles & plastic domes. (leaving the top open but stuffing with leaves) I use it around anything I treasure! The winters can be very harsh & if uncovered in early Spring many things just get a better start for the Summer. Just experiment sometime. It won't hurt anything as long as the top is open. I'd have to go out there & look but many plastic covers dot my beds for several winters now. Its cold here! LOL Brr I just got sick of losing plants during the bad winters!
