My DS has and old climber that only blooms at the top. he has it over an arbor. I'm not in the same zone he is so I'd like to hear from some one in his zone it's 7 I believe. He's east of FT. Smith Ark.
The rose needs dead trimmed out of the bottom but what and how much and where else does he need to trim? TIA

Silly bird, I don't know the best way myself but whenever I have a "how to" question I hit youtube.com It's an amazing resource for learning how to do all sorts of things.

Here's a link to one of the videos I found on pruning climbing roses...it's very good and i learned a lot from watching it!

There are many more to look at so your son should be able to get all his questions answered.

I learned how to prune my new Peach tree on youtube and also how to put together a professional looking gift basket! Smile

I just watched the pruning video on Utube. Jean's tip is a good one for finding "how to" videos on there!
