For the first time, DH and I are visiting North Carolina.
What a beautiful part of the country! Love all the different
plants and the mountains are breathtaking!

LA - North Carolina is indeed a beautiful state. Glad that you are enjoying the views. Be sure and take plenty of pictures. Are you on the Blue Ridge Parkway? Views are awesome there.

Loveangels, I agree. Was there in May. Didn't get to the Biltmore tho, didn't have time. Did go to the NC Botanical Gardens in Asheville. That was lovely if you get the chance....

My son and nephew want to plan a family reunion in the Oak Island area? Anyone familiar with that area? Would it be a good choice? Some of our families have young kids. ???

I love it up there too. Went to Biltmore in 2009. Stayed in Asheville a few days. DH thought it was so nice we were looking at small houses for sale. Didn't see anything cheap enough for a second home though, but it was a beautiful area.
