First I want to thank everyone for the well wishes and notes. This sinus infection really has laid me out. I finished up the last of the hospital ER z-pack on Friday and really wasn't that much better, so yesterday I had an appointment with my family doctor. He was not happy with the meds that I had received and said no wonder you didn't get any better. The meds were not strong enough to knock the infection out. So, I got a shot in the behind, a stronger antibotic and a ************ for the pain and pressure in my head that was really causing all the suffering. This morning for the first time in almost two weeks I woke up without a pounding headache over the eyes and in the cheekbones. I can breathe through my nose again - LOL. I am already 100% better than I was after just one dose and the shot. I love my doctor!!!
Now I just need to finish getting well and the weather needs to break so I can start planning and planting for that g-daughter wedding.
Thank all of you again.
good grief, what is wrong with the word P-R-E-S-C-R-I-P-T-I-0-N. Maybe I should have just said Pain pills...Scheesch.This message has been edited. Last edited by: vera ellen,
thank goodness you went to your doctor.. and that he got you on the right track to recovery. i hate to think of you suffering like that and am wishing you continued improvement and vibrant good health!
I'm happy that you are seeing some improvement with the new treatment! You trust that the ER knows what to do but it's too bad they weren't spot on.....

SO glad your doc was on the right track finally. Have to get better for those spring time beauties. Hate getting older and sickness not clearing as fast....((())) jan
I'm glad you're better now after seeing your own Dr. 2 weeks with a pounding headache must have been miserable...I can't imagine that.
Have fun with your planting when you feel better.

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Vera. I would have been a nasty person to be around if I had a headache for two weeks!!!
Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.
who said I wasn't a nasty person? LOL. I did get temporary pain relief by constantly taking Ibprophen...600 mg a day 3 x a day, but I was warned that you can't keep taking that much for long, so I cut it back to 400 mg....that was the only way I could get through the days. By the time the first dose wore off, the pounding and eyeball jumping was back. This was upon the advice of the pharmacist, who told me that OTC sinus meds are not that strong anymore...and recommended the Ibprophen instead.
Thank y'all again.
LOL! So glad that you are getting better. Spring is not a good time for a gardener to feel bad!

too late now, but for next time.... ask if there's something else they can suggest rather than the z-packs for folks of our age group....especially if you have any of the listed problems....just something to be aware of, ok?....
glad you are better now!!!

I wondered where you were! I didn't know you were laid up. Giant hugs coming your way.
Hoping you're even better today!
So glad to hear that you are getting some relief now. It sounds like you had a major miserable time of it. Glad your dr was able to figure out a much better course of action for you.
