I know so very little about roses, I am wondering what, if any, is the difference? I want to incorporate some roses into the yard, so far I have one Carpet Rose bush, one bush that I can't remember the name of given to me by a dear friend when my sister passed away two years ago, it is struggling, and another that I bought last year that seems to be doing 'ok' but who knows! Still waiting for JEANNE to come from TX to help me, we could walk around my yard while enjoying iced tea and teaching me her trade!!!

they're simply the grandparents of today's climbers....they need a little different treatment in pruning and only really bloom once in spring....

I have to say I would really like to have something that will give us color all summer long but it also has to be hardy enough to withstand the cold winters and also the hot, dry and windy summers. Any suggestions for zone 5b SE Colorado? BTW, I really LOVED looking at your pix of your yarden!! Sure wish we didn't have to work so darn hard here to get every little bit of our yardens, Mother Nature doesn't seem to like us much here.

I did find a thread when we talked last year about suggestions for a rambler, JEANNE gave me two names to look for. I just found that this morning before I had to leave. Now I have to find the supplier if I get to use a rambler on my rail fence. I MUST go back and look at your albums tonight. Right now I need to put things in the fridge, I got 'sidetracked' here

I don't wish to Highjack Ladeuces thread..but if people will remember I planted Climbing rosa "DublinBay" as a "Band" which we all know if just a cutting that has rooted and been potted up and is only a few months old..old enough to survive traveling from the Vendor to our homes...Here she was just planted last year..

And here she is this year..I've even had neighbors ask me what in the heck I am feeding that rose!!..They remember how tiny it was and thought what in the world is that twig she has inside that wrought iron obelisk?

I agree with Toots, JEANNE, you should put your knowledge onto DVDs and teach us. I could really use your help. Since I can't entice you to Colorado to my yard the next best thing, I GUESS, would to be to buy your copies of the class......you could be filming the teachings as you are working in your yard.....just like they do on HGTV! Really, we are serious, not teasing at all...at least think about it okay? Please?
