I'm in MD Zone 7. These bulbs will be going in plastic pots that will stay outside through winter, but will be WELL mulched.

I've had the bulb s for about a month.
Pot now or wait? I can do either, but was hoping for recommendations. I don't have any experience with bulbs.

I think I can plant as late as late November here. (depending on the weather, of course.)

I've never had success with either of those down here.
Maybe someone closer to you will pop in with advice.

Aliums, ornamental onions, should be planted outside where they are to grow in September to October, just as other spring flowering bulbs are.

I have some allium bulbs on order & as soon as they get here, they'll be going in the ground. My question is, why are you putting them in pots?

Ditto Kimm and Mgt!

In zone 7 the ground is usually workable until a really hard freeze, like January...and like other spring flowering bulbs, they need chill to flower, so make sure to get them out soon.
