Oh, I want an orange tree soooo bad cause they smell soooooo good! I didn't know rosemary bloomed either, I'll have to keep an eye on mine. I haven't seen any dogwoods blooming here yet but I saw a redbud in full bloom in town today.

oh my, you already have spring! Add me to the "I didn't know rosemary bloomed" list. Dogwoods normally bloom around Easter here. Lucky you, dogwoods are my favorite tree, love them. Redbuds usually bloom around the same time as the dogwoods.
I've never smelled an orange tree blossom......do they really smell as good as people say? It's a pretty bloom.
The rosemary flowers are so tiny you'd miss them if you don't have a mass of them.
I only have two redbuds and I haven't seen any buds yet. The plums have already bloomed and leafed out.
Muddy, my daylilies are just starting to sprout like your iris.
Orange blooms DO smell heavenly. About a mile down from our street they have a couple of very large orange groves, it smells so nice to drive by when they are all in bloom which should be any day now.

Thanks for solving a mystery for me. Two houses up the street have blue flowers blooming beside their mailboxes and from your pic then looking rosemary up, I can tell that is what they have. How delightful to have blue flowers this early! I may have to get some once we get settled into a new place. Bet it would look good with daffidils planted in front of it, if it could be kept from eating them. :-D
Tried to add a link to a Plant Delights entry on it but it wouldn't take it. Nor will it let me use smilies lately either.
It's a little mindblowing to think of dogwoods blooming this early.
But I saw flowering plum and pear trees in full bloom while coming back from my folks across the N Atlanta suburbs this afternoon. I'm also seeing the first blooms on my forsythia bush. No pix of it yet but I'll try to get some once it gets going better. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Luv R Pups,

I don't know why but my rosemary hardly ever blooms. It's been in the ground for several years and just grows and grows. I'm always cutting it back to keep it in bounds but not many blooms. I wonder what the trick is?

You might quit cutting it back to see if that helps. Some plants flower on older wood (stems) so you may be cutting those off. Best time to prune most plants is usually *after* they flower.
