I am home for two days with a cruddy cold, so I had time to walk around instead of the usual checking the bird's water & seed only. It is starting to rain fairly routinely so most flowers will be pounded away soon. Here are some that remain. This is the first year for blooms on my sweet potatoes.This message has been edited. I don't usually see fall color displays on this tree. Note the neighbor's typical CA landscaping. Summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine... http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j8/KGinCA/

TFS KG~~~Nice! Is that a red ivy geranium? Amazing so many red blooms inspite of decline! Can you take it inside for TLC? "Those that throw mud, lose ground!" :>)

Gorgeous. | ||||

KG - Your Bougainvillea is very pretty. I've not seen that color before. Here, I'm used to seeing the purple variety.

KG - thank you for the lovely tour.....amazing that you still have so many pretties. I am intrigued by the pretty leaves photo...is it an ivy geranium as someone asked. It's gorgeous. I love varigated leaves. ve

I hope you are feeling better by now. Your pictures certainly made me feel better! So pretty at this time of year. About all I have left are a few scattered yellow corydalis that are nearest the garage cement wall. I guess they are protected and warmed there since we've had snow and very cold temps already that killed everything else! Thanks for the cheerful pics!

Your garden looks wonderful. I have a neighbor who covered the wood fence in front of his house with the same color bogey as yours. What is the name of the grass that is pink? I love the way you incorporated the white painted metal scroll work with the pink and green grass. Is the tree that changed colors yours or your neighbors? Palm trees are so overdone here and they look weird growing next to a pine tree. Which is fairly typical around here. Plus everyone else in the vicinity who doesn't want palm trees has to be vigilant in digging out the palm tree seedlings that develop everywhere.

I just noticed a few days ago that my geraniums are still alive. We have had a few hard frosts and they are still alive. I am tempted to go out and repot them and bring them inside. I have done that before. I also find that growing geraniums from seed is quite easy. I usually get 100% germination. The seed look like they are pelleted seeds.

Lovely to have garden color at this time of year! We have white and green. Is that variegated geranium Vancouver Centennial? I've used that many times (don't bother wintering over) altho this year used a similar one - can't remember the name. Love the colors of it. I don't have id on the geraniums. The do fine in the searing sun and overwinter right were they are. Summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine... http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j8/KGinCA/

KG - what a lovely update! Thank you for sharing. I see that you are using Photobucket.....did you know that you can copy the URL and paste it into the body of the message and do all those pictures in one thread? It's super simple to do. Enjoy your pretties.....we are in the dull drab season here. ve

Thanks VE ! I kinda store photos at Photobucket so they can be viewed at any time, but I don't move most photos there...these were uploaded directly from Photoscape where All of my photos are stored. I should try posting more than one from Photoscape in a new post to see if it works also.
