88hazel -- Where is she?
I know we've asked before, but no answers yet. Looks like her posts just stopped abruptly on June 22 last year. Up to then, she was very active on the board.

Does anybody have a way to reach her? Sure hope she and her family are okay.

I miss her.

I think the last time Hazel posted was last June. The surprising thing is that the previous year she posted TONS OF PHOTOS of her daughter's wedding. I would never do that in a million yrs. I am a privacy freak and would only post maybe 5 pics of my DD's wedding. Not the whole family, house, etc. So for someone to post so much on-line and then disappear abruptly is surprising. I do hope everything is OK with her. Miss her as well.
P.S. I just noticed the above poster used the same word I did - "abruptly"!!! I never copy anyone else's words. Smart minds think alike!!!

i too hope and pray for 88hazel's well being. the problem with being invisibly present online is that if something were to happen, no one would ever know what. it has happened more than once in my experience... and probably yours too.

as a result, i have made arrangements to pass along the word if something were to happen to me. lets face it..
1) we're all getting older.. some more so than others, and
2) things can happen at any time to any age.

meanwhile, good energy is being sent to 88hazel to support her in whatever she is going through.

I took a couple of months off myself last year, but she has been gone awhile. Hope everything is alright. Confused

She shared some bulbs with me in the past & have to hunt for her address. If I find it I will send her a letter! Worried too!

Bana, I've done this too! I have a list both on paper and on the computer of different sites to be notified if anything should happen.
Otherwise, you can figure I'm either really busy or my computer is broke AGAIN. I'm on a spare one right now, mine's at the "geek shop"!
Hope Hazel is doing good & nothing has happened.

Hi Everyone! Thank you all so much for thinking of me, and Muddy, for sending me a sweet little card! I'm so sorry to have dropped off the face of the earth like I did, but life kind of took an abrupt turn for me, and I have had little time for my online friendships.

One tends to think of these online communities as "phantom friends" (I've heard this phrase used before, so I'm not the only one that has that mindset), but you all have proven that you truly are friends who care and go the distance! I've seen it in my own life and in how you all rally around others. You are truly a blessing, and I feel terrible for not at least letting you know, "hey guys--I'm taking a break!" Please forgive me??? Frown

I have started working full time for a CPA firm, and frankly, after being a stay at home mom for nearly 30 years, this has kicked my heinie!! I am still not used to the schedule, and am really wondering if I'm going to have the motivation to garden this year. But--we have a plan that I will work to help us get our home renovations accomplished before we retire, so for the next 12-13 years, that will be our situation. I don't want to be pushing carts at Wally World when I'm 80, so there you have it!

Someone mentioned my posting pictures of our dd's wedding--I'm devastated to let you know that the marriage has ended. It was an agonizingly long 2 years for them (the "wedding" was in September, but they were actually secretly married in February of 2011). The problems accelerated until he became abusive, and that was the last straw for her. He is now in the Marines, and she is working on putting her life back together. She is happy, and has learned a valuable lesson.

Other than that, I am looking forward to spring (AFTER tax season, that is!), and hope to stop in now and then as I have time.

Thank you all again, for you concern for me. I sure didn't mean to make anyone worry needlessly!! If you ever wanted to send me a PM, I do receive notifications in my email, so that would be a good way to contact me.

Muddy--so glad you like those blasted little things!! I wish I could send you ALL of mine! Wink

Love you all!!
Karen

Yippee, you're alive and well, just busy. Thank you so much for checking in. I hope you can find some stress relief in the garden...just a little bit helps. Going back to work after several years has to be a major adjustment!

Wishing you the best.
