I have lst quite a few plants in the last months. Between the heat, over watering, spider mites, and GRASSHOPPERS galore, things are suffering.

Beautiful plants. I used to have a Martha Washington geranium, but lost it last year. I really loved it.

The birdcage plant is, I believe, a California Gold bougainvilla. I have lost many of my plant tags...I am so glad it survived as the Santa Ana winds blew the entire cage over on the plant last year and broke all of the limbs about a foot above the ground. I seems to be a richer color that before.

The red vine is a lonicera - a honeysuckle.

Lovely birdcage plant. Very nice pics How hot is it out there? We have had so many days in the 90's which is unusual for us.

Oh I love bouganvilla (sp?). They sell it as an annual here but we had a beautiful one in Florida where I grew up.

Love to see your collection of fun! Very nice KG!
Did you ever have a bird in that cage. Lovely what you can do with your patio there. TFS

Oh,what lovely plants. I LOVE that Martha Washington geranium. I can't find anything but the standard geraniums at home. I'd love to have some of the different ones. Do they grow well from seeds? That might be the only way I can get them.

I don't have a ton of plants in containers because of our travels. They have to be put in the yard and watered by the sprinklers while we are traveling. Same for indoor plants, so I don't have but a couple that I farm out to friends while we're away.

16paws - It has been super hot for a while now. Over 100 several days, and it is 98 right now at 4:30pm.

Fluffy - They are perennials here for sure. I have lost one to a freeze, and one to the Santa Ana winds in another location.

Muddy - I bought the cage to use in the yard, but I did bring it in to house 3 pet rats for a while. We made it into a condo for them...
Thanks for the comments about the yard.

FFG - There are many geraniums sold here & I try to overwinter mine. Most of my pots are on a drip system or I wouldn't bother in this heat. I have to add more to the drip before I go on vacation this year. I group the ones too far from the drip and ask a neighbor to water them when I leave for a week.

Wow, 100 degrees and you still have stuff blooming. We had days in the mid 90's and our stuff fried, by noon daylilies and irises were curled up! Your plants are quite hardy and of course lots of water helps! (I take it the rats have since left or moved into other/larger quarters, perhaps a rat house Big Grin)

Love that birdcage planter and the plant. Great variety you have there and you've done a good job keeping them flourishing with your heat. I was really interested in your succulents. Such a varied assortment.

Owie, your gardens sound like mine. Curled up and sad looking.
