I got an e-mail from Dutch Gardens saying that my order had been shipped on Wednesday, and they gave me a tracking #. So I tracked it, and it was suppose to be delivered Friday. Well it hadn’t gotten here by 2 the last time there was a fed ex delivery here it was here at 8 am. I had some things to do, and checked the tracking # again, it hadn't moved. So I checked again this morning(I didn't know if they delivered on Saturday or not).Well...it said that it had been delivered yesterday. Left at door, and it was left at the next town over! So I cheked my order verification, and the address was right on that. I called FedEx, and gave the girl my tracking #, she asked what my address was, and then said why would it be left at the next town over? I DON't KNOW!!!!I checked the street maps and they don't even have a road the same as mine in that town. This is where it gets weird. She told me the address where it was left. It is 2 doors down from where my mother lives. And my mother had actually live at that address @5 years ago. So I called her and asked her if she would go down to ask these people if they had my package. She went over and the pkg. was still in front of the door. The people hadn't been home since it was delivered. She grabbed it, and called me. Isn't it a prerequisite that you have to know how to read get a job with these people???

It must be common now to have people in delivery trucks who can't read.. I had a UPS driver transpose the numbers in my address and attempt to deliver the package to that address, when they weren't home, he took it with him. Needless to say when I tried tracking it and discovered I wasn't home, I emailed UPS. She had no idea what happened, but I did finally get the package two days later. If my neighbor hadn't come across and asked if I were expecting a package I'd never have known.

NY lady...at least yours was on your street...mine wasn't even in the same zip code.
My mother is hopeing that nobody saw her take this package off these people's steps. LOL, I told her to just call and I'll bail her out when the cops come to haul her away. LOL, my 86 year old mother is now hiding in her house.

I know this has nothing to do with whether you can read, but when NYLady said something about transposing numbers, it reminded me of what my daughter said today. My grandson got a really bad grade on a subject that was known for being an easy class. So he was grounded for quite some time. He only got a 49 in that class. The teacher called a couple of weeks later and found out that she had transposed the numbers and he should have gotten a 94. Was he ever mad! Can't say I blame him.

You'd be surpised at how deliver people know NOTHING about what they deliver. Last year, I had some chicks that were supposed to be left at the post office and I was supposed to pick them up, but low and behold I got home from a short errend and the postman was waiting there with the chicks. The chicks are like newborns and are supposed to be kept out of drafts. Needless to say, that stoopid postman had all of his windows down. On top of the package, it said in bold letters, to call upon arrival. I asked him if he could read? He looked at me like I just slapped him and said(very indignantly)Of course I can, I'm working for the Post office aren't I? I showed him the notice, took my chicks and went into the house. I proceeded to call the post office and made a complaint about the carrier, but I still lost 5 chicks.

I had ordered some live corals for my saltwater reef tank. The box was labled in HUGE letters "overnight", "live animals", "Keep protected". The tag had directions to place the box IN the cooler I had left on the front porch. When I came home the cooler had been moved to the bottom the the steps and the box was placed ON TOP! So the delivery driver did not have enough time to fully read the directions on the tag, but did have enough time to move the cooler! Thankfully all the corals survived and have been doing well for over a year now. Otherwise someone would have been repaying me some **$!!
Another delivery driver goof....I live in the country...8 mi.from town. However, I USED to work in town @ drug store where we got FedX deliveries all the time. I was supposed to be having a check delivered overnight from someplace & stayed home all morning (supposed to be delivered by noon). No check @ noon, called - will be there within the hour. No check @ 1pm or 2pm. & they were getting tired of me calling...! My old work called...the idiot had delivered it in town so he didn't have to drive out here!!!!!!!!!!!!! You better believe I read him (knew him from previous deliveres) & the manager at their center the riot act about deliveries being made to address on label NOT where it was convient for them.
I had to pay someone by 5pm. & that was why it was being overnighted in the first place...I just barely made it as I had to drive quite a distance to make the transaction...buying a tractor...if I didn't show w/money he had another buyer!
You just can't fix stupid. We could ask all mail order companies to put that logo on their uniforms if they are not going to require the delivery people to read the address of the client.LOL
Still dancing!!!!!

Wow, what horror stories. I get the wrong mail all the time and then my husband was looking for a rather large check for a part time job he works (he gets paid about once a quarter) and it never came. We kept going to the mailbox waiting for it and when it was verified the day they mailed it and it was coming from the next city over, they stopped payment on it and reissued one. Never have seen it. No idea what happened to it.
Hope the flowers do well Brownie.
Near 90 in PA? Goodness gracious! That's hotter than it has been here in the south!

Although I am not defending the UPS delivery person for the mistake, do you know what pressure these people are under? I used to work for a bank and we got regular deliveries every day and it was be bitter, freezer cold out and the deliveryman would have the truck doors open and we asked him why one day and he told us that it takes so many seconds to open/close those doors and if they don't keep to their schedule, a supervisor rides with them and times every stop. There was an article in the newspaper or on tv how they never made left turns. Have you ever observed an UPS truck driving up and down your street making deliveries? You'd think the deliveries would be made in numerical order to save time and gasoline. These persons make good money but they really have to hustle.
I use FedEx on a regular basis. When they make a mistake--such as not picking up an urgent package, I call and insist on speaking with a manager. They should either credit you with the cost of shipping or find the package and hand deliver it to you. I know that they use local delivery services within my area if their regular delivery people miss a delivery or pickup. They have picked up a package left behind at their local Kinko's store (regular pickup place) and delivered it with their local delivery people to my client 40 miles away. They charge a lot for their services--obviously they should be able to do their jobs.
