And this one's my favorite-Bears Breeches
Very pretty lovlies!! Tell me more about the last picture! Is that a shade plant? Can you propagate? how tall are they?

Muddy, Bot. it's Acanthus hungaricus(sp?). The only bears breeches that grows in z5 ((for me, anyway). I have it in the shade garden but it gets east morning sun. Grows about 2-3 feet. Planted it year before last and it did nothing last year, in fact I thought I lost it. Was very pleased and surprised to see it this year. Not up on propogation, bought the plant...don't know about seedings.
I love all your lilies! Gorgeous!!!
Jan, I'm so glad to see that you have bloomers now. Love that asiatic lily - gorgeous!!!
Muddy, Bana can tell you about bears breeches. She has them although I think hers is different from Jan's. Bana's looked very full (and she had lots of babies too).
will start another thread so muddy can see it.
So pretty!!! My lilies are ready to pop and can't wait...love them.

Muddy, I had a couple of bear's britches, acanthus--the leaves are often carved on classical pillars of major buildings, but I digress. It took me several tries to find one that would grow in our area. I had them in a bed with daylilies in the sun. Now both plants are not doing well again, no flower spikes this year. For me, they take work, don't know if it's the drainage since the winter was warm but they are definitely not thriving.
How did I miss this???
Sorry! They are beautiful! I love the lilies!

16paws, I have planted bear's breeches twice, and it died both times. I got a refund for it, but the store clerk said he could not understand why it didn't grow, because at his house, he couldn't kill it! Oh, well......
Judge not, you don't know their story.
Just beautiful! Love the Bear's Breeches and their huge leaves!
