Just curious:
Do You wear white pants in the summer?
I have never worn white pants in my life, but I do love seeing white pants (especially white jeans) on the right person in summer!!!
Do you wear a watch? I stopped wearing a watch after my batteries died in the watch. It has been YEARS since I bought a new watch. I want a new watch for the Fall/winter when I am wearing a coat and don't want to dig under the coat to get to my 'cell phone' to see the time!
I will buy a new watch soon! White pants, not yet!!! Thanks!!! ;-)

i don't wear white pants.. don't like to see the panty line under them. jeans might be ok because they are thicker material.

never wear a watch. i use my cell phone if i need to know the time.

i don't carry a purse either. small wallet goes in left pocket and cell phone and hanki in right.. with car/house keys on retractable clip on waistband. it feels so free to not have to hang onto anything.

Haven't worn white pants in many years, since the skinny days. I wear a watch all the time. I feel undressed without it.

I do not know if it has anything to do with being a SoCal gal, but I wear white pants year round. I stopped wearing a watch because there are clocks all around me at work & home + in the car & there is always the cell phone. I down sized on purses to force myself to carry less. I am into Michi bags now...

I wear white pants lots in the Michigan summers. I wear (shhhhh) beige colored thongs to avoid pantie lines. One need not have B u t floss, so buy thongs a little larger than you would normally. Enjoy!

I have worn white slacks & jeans off/on over the years. I have a pair of white jeans right now, but it has to be the right activity before I wear them...like a family reunion...where I won't be wallering in the dirt! Big Grin
I wear a watch...last thing off before shower, first thing back on after the shower! Mine is a man's style Casio w/calculater, stop watch, duel time (son in Japan), and alarm (that I can't hear). It is also water resistant...washes right off! When I take it off you can see what color I REALLY am!
I do carry a purse...but only because I need to have certain items with me at all times away from home...due to a medical condition. Otherwise, it's just a wallet in a pocket if it will be a quick trip.

I wear white pants and shorts.

I own a watch that is solar powered so it doesn't need to have the batteries replaced. You don't need sunlight to keep it charged. The light from indoor lighting will keep the battery charged.

It's a Citizen Eco Drive water resistant watch. I accidentally put it in the washing machine once and it still works. It's supposed to be water proof for hand washing dishes.

Dh is a big watch fan and he wears self winding watches. No batteries are needed for this type of watch. The movement of your arm keeps the watch wound. He also owns a Citizen Eco Drive watch,

Oh Dear - laughing as I read this post! Am I creating a major fashion blunder by wearing white pants? I love white pants in the summer (but not after Labor Day - LOL). I have white jeans, white capri's & white dress pants. I'm 68 - does this make wearing white a no no for me?

Watches - gosh I love'em. Not a jewelry person at all...but I love watches and earrings. So yes, I buy the cheap ones so I have have all kinds...in every color and configuration. Love earrings too, so also have a lot of those. Only other jewelry I wear are my wedding rings. Once in awhile I'll wear a necklace, but not often and almost never wear bracelets.

I don't wear white pants, but that's just because I don't have any right now. I would wear them if I found a pair that fit the way I like. But, the panty lines are another thing and I REFUSE to wear a thong!!! NEVEEER--(said with a French accent! Big Grin) even though my 20-something DD has tried to convince me to buy a pair! Yuck

I stopped wearing a watch because I lost mine at my sister's, and just never replaced it. Now, I don't think I could get used to one on my wrist. Cell phone or clock on the wall works for me. Smile

Sure, I have and wear white pants and skirts. (I'm not much of a shorts person, except for exercising.) I'm not so sure that old rule about not wearing white after Labor Day applies any more. I wouldn't let that stop me! Big Grin

I do wear bracelets and jewelry sometimes, but not a watch.

Since you like them, why don't you wear white pants, Waverider? Go for it, life is short! Smile

Wear mostly white pants in the summer, black pants in the winter and some jeans any time. Find they go with all my colored tops. I like the capri length in the warm weather. Should clean my closet and get rid of all the others since I rarely wear them. Jackets are usually white, black & white or black so I can mix them up.

First - Let me give my age, because I think that matters with the answers.

I am 42 years old.

Yes, I wear white pants AND white jeans, often. I even wear them in the winter sometimes. They go great with my sweaters. I wear white colored boy shorts (can't do thongs) and there is no panty line.

Yes, I wear a watch but only when I remember to put it on. I had a really nice watch (with diamonds) that DH bought for me a few years ago. Unfortunately, I left it in my pants pockets and it was lost in the washer for 6 months (caught in the trap). It was rusted and not wrking when I found it. So I only have 2 cheap ones that I don't like much anymore.

Some of my favorite Spring/Summer outfits include white pants, white capris or white jeans.
I only buy nude, seamless undies and have never fought the panty line battle.
I do not wear a watch. Gave that up years ago. Every room at home and at work has clocks aplenty.
I do carry a purse, but it's more the style of an iPad pouch. That's all I need to carry my reading glasses, wallet and keys.

I'm 70 and I have no idea why age really matters. I don't wear "little old lady" anything! LOL Won't accept help from the guys at the grocery store unless I buy something *really* heavy and won't get a handicap sticker for my vehicle. I'm fighting old age every which way to Sunday! LOLOL

I hadn't had a pair of white summer pants for many years altho have had winter white pants which are really off-white or cream colored. Recently I bought some brightly colored tops with white in them that need white summer pants so I just bought a pair. They are cotton and not heavy but the tops are long so I think I'll be decent wearing beige underwear underneath. If anyone has a problem with that it's theirs not mine.

Haven't worn a watch for years since I retired. There are usually clocks everywhere and I can look at my cell if necessary.

i think 'white after labor day' went out with bell bottoms. rules of my generation don't seem to exist any more.

i don't dress my age [73] either. i usually wear cargo pants with pockets in lieu of carrying a purse.. and a caftan top or a t-shirt with sleeves. dressy pants are rayon drawstring, usually with a caftan top. see the 'dressing for comfort, not style' pattern here?

around the house i'm in a ankle length colorful caftan.. very comfortable. if i go out in the garden, i knot the hem in the front to shorten it so i don't trip on it getting up 'n down to weed.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's answers, thanks ladies!!!
I did NOT ask anyone's age! Age has nothing to do with wearing 'white pants', I think it's an 'attitude' and confidence, both of which I lack! I love white pants in summer. The reason I say "white pants in summer" is because, honestly, you don't see any "winter white" much in fall and winter around here. There is winter white, and that is a much heavier material (sometimes coats are white, etc.). In NJ I see alot of people wearing white in summer. I rarely wear white blouses because I don't look good in white. Yes, I get a little suntan, but I never tan my face. (not much, mostly a fake tan for the parts that need it, like my legs). I love white pants in summer (any age, that's irrelevant!) I really like white jeans. I saw a middle-aged petite woman in white jeans last week and she looked great. Loved them. I always had this thing about wearing white jeans. I never bought them cause I thought they made you look heavier and I didn't want that. I noticed people of all sizes wear white pants. I can probably buy a pair. (I'm a size 6 or 8) Yes, life IS short, it's time I bought those white jeans! I would only wear 'nude' colored underwear underneath. Thongs are not an option!!!! I just realized something!!! I would need nice new shoes and some more clothes to go with the white pants. You can't wear ugly old clothes with white. White screams for current, stylish clothes to go with it. Uh oh......
I definitely want a watch. I was planning on buying one last January from Avon. But I was in an accident and in the hospital last Jan. Life is short and very unpredictable as well..... Have a great night ladies!!!

i think what keeps me from wearing white pants is that i would not be able to keep them clean. i don't know how those football player uniforms get so clean. they must buy new ones each week. they sure can afford them.

wavie.. how are you doing now after the accident? i hope you are not suffering after effects from it.

Karen, go back & get some!

Wavie, yes, life is short...do what makes you happy & to heck with what other people think! If they know the 'real you' none of that will matter!
So you need to go buy those white jeans & WEAR THEM!!! Geeezzz, size 6-8????...I wish! Mine is more 12-14 in women's sizes but I generally buy men's jeans cause they fit me better and I can buy the length I need.
And yes, you will need new colorful tops and definately some new shoes to go with them! And maybe a new bag/purse...sort of a summery one! What about a hat? or new sunglasses?
Watches....huummm, not sure where to get those, maybe try a google & see what comes up. Don't forget to look at Amazon, they have good prices.

How did you know I need new sunglasses?
I have prescription sunglasses, but I want a new pair. So many things I need, so little time.
(P.S. The thing I need more than anything else on earth are new bras.....!!)

I buy all of mine thru a catalog...have for YEARSSSSSSSSS.
www.onehanesplace.com
They have several brands, sales most of the time & sometimes you can catch free shipping. Be sure to look at their coupon site too. They have some kind of coupon going on right now that expires in Aug.
I just got 4 new ones last month. I'm pretty boring as far as colors..white, beige & black! Most don't have a big or good color selection in my size!

Thanks Karen, but I cannot buy any without trying them on in a dept. store first! I'm not sure what size I am. I wear different sizes sometimes with different companies. Do they have the latest styles (model #'s) that you would find in a store? After I find the ones I like in person, I can request a catalog and order them from there perhaps. Thanks so much. I hate shopping for bras and when I go, I buy a whole batch at once. I never can find all the colors I want and the size, and for now on once I find the ones I like, I will save the Model #'s and buy them on-line in the future when needed! (sometimes shipping is free)
THANKS AGAIN!!!

Yes to white slacks. I bought a knock-off Spanx and it's perfect for light colored slacks. Or I wear sheer to the toe panty hose and I know many people won't wear them at all any more.

I also have a couple of white skirts and even a couple of predominately white dresses.

I do have a pair of white denim shorts but not denim jeans.

I am not young and skinny any more. However, I am dressing for ME and no one else. If they don't like what I wear...DON'T LOOK AT ME! Wink

I do wear a watch.

I do not and will not wear thongs. There's a really cute girl here in the office who wears thongs - not the shoes. I notice it more with dresses - those clingy knit things. When she turns around - I don't know how many remember the sanitary napkin belts - yep...that's exactly what I think about.

I go to seminars a couple of times a year in San Marcos. I found the Hanes store and purchase my bras there.

A BFF will not wear white shoes because her feet are too big. She wears a 7. I wear an 8 1/2 and I do wear white shoes. IMHO she is really limiting her shoe purchasing ability. Big Grin She also talks about women who wear light slacks and dark blouses because it makes their butts look big. Hello!!!! LOL I don't know if she realizes that she's talking about me or if she is subtly trying to tell me not to do that! Wink (See above comment about dressing for ME.)

Oh, KYIS--hilarious comparison about the thongs and sanitary belts!! And yes, I remember those--SOOOO glad they are a thing of the past!

This topic is getting more and more risque...Eek

Wavie, I do the same thing--once I find a style that fits, I stick with that until I either lose/gain weight or decide those are just too uncomfortable (which I recently did when I switched to an underwire sports bra). I used to have more trouble before I lost weight because I was a 36DDD. REALLY hard to find, except maybe at Lane Bryant, and even then, only in one style. I mostly had to order them, as the local store didn't keep them in stock.

DH finds it hard to believe a woman can try on 10 bras and maybe 1 of them will fit, maybe none of them. He thinks a bra is a bra...NOT EVEN!!

What we women go through to look good! Sheesh! Roll Eyes

Literally ROTFLMAO - this post is hilarious! I can't even remember who started it now...doesn't matter.........get out there and buy those white jeans. Needing new shoes to go with them is just an excuse to buy a new pair of shoes, but hey, being a shoe freak myself, whatever works!! I wear my Yellow Boxes with mine - yep, white jeans and flip flops....aka STYLISH flip flops!!! Cool

As you get older and the sags really start, getting a bra that fits is a challenge. The cups simply aren't big enough by the time you roll all the stretch up, but Man do you have cleavage Big Grin!

That's so funny about your DH. Maybe you can bring an underwire bra home in his size and let him see for himself how uncomfortable they can be. Why can't someone design an underwire that doesn't dig into you.

My DH knows you have to try on a lot to find right one. What he hates is being dragged through the lingerie section helping me look through the selection. Of course he thinks nothing of me going with him to find the best support and comfort underwear for him. Tell your dh that you both are facing the laws of gravity with time. Does he want to see them hanging down to your waist - LOL. Just wait until he has to worry about his boys landing in the toilet water.

Karen, you should have looked at that same link I put up. I used to wear a 32D, those are really hard to find too. Then I've moved up to 34DD, so a bit easier to find. I've bought Bali's for sooo long. I try others & come right back to them. My favorite is their "flower" bra.
That link (onehanesplace.com) has Bali, Playtex, Barely There, Wonderbra (we Karens don't need those), Hanes & Champion.
They have good prices on panty hose...the more you buy at one time the cheaper they get.
I also buy my panties there and their "World's Softest Socks"! Those socks are a bit pricey but they last for years (and that was wearing them every day for work).

Definitely laughing out loud here!! I was "sharing" this topic with DH just last night--you better believe I'm gonna give him this latest update! Hilarious!! Big Grin

And Vera, the visual of "rolling the stretch up" for cleavage is pretty darn funny too!

Karen, my latest acquisitions are Lily of France underwire sports bras from Kohl's. With them being on sale, plus a 20% off coupon, they were pretty reasonable. But I might still check into your link and see if they carry them.

Just to be clear, don't get any ideas that my "sports" bra is used for any kind of actual sport except gardening (that IS a sport, isn't it?). But it does do wonders at keeping my chest from becoming too closely acquainted with my navel!! Razz

You ladies are a hoot! Big Grin

I wear my Yellow Boxes with mine - yep, white jeans and flip flops....aka STYLISH flip flops!!! Cool

As you get older and the sags really start, getting a bra that fits is a challenge. The cups simply aren't big enough by the time you roll all the stretch up, but Man do you have cleavage Big Grin! ve

I started this post and it took on a life of it's own. It's absolutely hysterical!!!!! Ya'll the best, all of you!! Wink
Sanitary Belts ~ OMG, sadly I am old enuf to remember those!!! Now they remind me of "G" strings..... Big Grin
(Just for the record, I literally have to try on 86 bras to find 1 or 2 that fit. Then I buy about 7 of them at once (over $100 easily!) (I have an easy size C, I never heard of DDD! geez louise
Vera, you wear yellow boxes under white pants?
EXCUSE ME????? Aren't we a flasher now??!!! Big Grin

Karen I will have to check out those sports bras...I do run a few times a week and rely on the newer Champion that is an actual size underwire vs the range version....very comfy and everything kept in place for motion...I use the other champions for non-running days. The saleslady showed me the one she uses golfing and no way would that do for any more active sports. My problem is at Kohls they usually only have one in my size if any when on sale...so I go through hassle of buying size up and switching out on next trip IF they have mine in stock....sooooo much effort!!! Roll Eyes

BUT YES GARDENING IS EXTREME EXCERCISE!!! I got one of those reel mowers for my bitty yard and it's great for upper body building....Razz Big Grin

Wavee - you are a riot! Please tell me that you were joking about the yellow boxes under the white pants. Yellow Box is a flip flop brand...aka, a sandal! LOLing!!

No honeychile, I wear nude undies under my white jeans, and yellow boxes on my feets! Big Grin

Since we have dredged up what used to be unmentionables, raise your hand if you remember garter belts and before that, stockings that were literally held up with garters! My hand is up!

You know, I left a post on there last night and it has totally disappeared into the ether. And I don't think I used a trigger word. Oh, well.

I hate wearing bras and don't wear them a lot of the time, particularly if I'm just at home. I also hate shopping for them, just like everybody else.

Vera, I got my first pair of Yellow Box and they're black sequined!!! Love them.

That too!
But are either of you old enough to remember the winter hose? That were held up with garters? They were a thick brown sock like thing...my grandmother made me wear them to school in first grade! I was made fun of nearly all year for them!
And pants went UNDER skirts! No pants by themselves!!!
Or how about flour sack drawers? Big Grin
