Not as pretty as yours, but it's the best I can do.

The drought has decimated the lawn. I'm lucky to still have as many live plants as I do.

I think both pictures are pretty. Both of your gardens look better than mine, although I must admit, since we've started in a wet pattern, things are looking much, much better. I even have daylilies blooming again, and they are NOT rebloomers.

Mine have screens, too, but here's a shot from our FR window.

How pretty, Shook! Lots of textural interest in that view. Love it!

Come to think of it, I've been looking at my yard through the window most of this summer. With almost daily temps over 100º for weeks and weeks, as high as 109º some days, I haven't been spending much time out in it. My sweet DH has been tackling the job of keeping the 'important' stuff watered.

Muddy, I could just imagine sitting on your swing with a nice cold glass of iced tea. Such a lovely surrounding!

Nettie, what type of hydrangea is that? It is so pretty! I love your crape myrtles, too!

The hydrangea is "Limelight".
The crapes are "Tonto". They need help IMO ... Looking too thick for my taste.

From what I know now, our climate is tricky for crapes. (Wish I knew that before I planted them!) The MO Bot'l Garden site says they can be pruned to 8" above ground in spring, which would certainly take care of that 'thickness' I dislike. But that's a very scary proposition, cutting them that short. Yikes. What to do, what to do? LOL

Love to see this! Wish more would join in! Thanx for playing. I just took my screens out for the picture. I might have another shot if I can find it. Nice to share what we are all up to!

Ok, I'm back.......shot through the window was a mess.....too many tree leaves and too much sun on the lower gardens. SO, how about a shot through the front door?

This is from upstairs looking out the back window. Now I just have to "patiently" wait until my small plants grow!

Thanks Vera - I'm kinda thinking since the plants that we put in the new mulched areas were all 50 - 70% off sale from the garden center, we should have bought the next step bigger size of plants. Patience is good to have, but at my age, well.......think it would have been better to have got plants bigger. oh well.

If ya'll were down here having a cup of coffee with me, we'd be sitting at my kitchen table looking out the window & we could watch the crawling fig on the fence engulf the entire fence, house & neighbor's house if it got its way!

Yep, DH's daughter got married last November at the house. DH built the Gazebo the walkway and the stairs for the wedding. I did the landscaping. We had the reception in the greatroom.
