Although it didn't grow much during it's first growing season last year, this year it's already grown 6 inches. I'm hoping for a little growth spurt this summer. Fingers crossed

Mine is about 36". How long has it been since they have been planted at your doctor's office?? My little one bloomed nicely last year and I'm loving the burgundy new growth (very pretty). The blooms last year were actually too heavy.

We've had a good soaking rain every week for the last two months. Last summer was VERY dry. I gave it a good soaking every week. I'm planning to do it again this year if we have another drought. It loves the rain water though!

I'm not familiar with all of the new varieties, but you can do a search on line. My favorite site is www.monrovia.com. There is also the "White Chocolate." I almost got that one, but decided on the burgundy cotton because it was different too, but more affordable. The blooms are white and the new foilage is burgundy.
