I dug my garlic a couple of weeks ago and hung it out to dry. Noticed these long stalks and what look like buds coming from it.  | ||

The garlic has formed a scape which will produce bulbils which can be planted to grow more garlic or eaten. I have discovered that lots of folks cut those scapes when they appear & eat them! Guess they are really good in stir frys. They are milder than the bulb but stronger than an onion.
