Got me a pack of seeds for butterfly weed the orange variety...any tips on germinating/growing from seed. I wonder if the ones in the seed packets have been pre chilled?I grew this years ago but seem to have trouble getting it to be established.

All I can tell you muddy is that I wintersowed butterfly weed one year and it's still going gangbusters in my garden. So maybe it needs that cold stratification...??? It transplanted just fine here in 5b...

They don't get any cold here in our area in the woods and still come up.
And the ones down here are tuberous.
I haven't been able to get any of the seeds I've collected to germinate. Next ones I get, I'm just going to lay them on top of the soil instead of covering them lightly.
