Has anyone experienced this? Red leaves on roses? A friend called it rose rosacea but I didn't find it as a garden disease but a skin condition. New leaves on my roses, knockout and others, are coming in a reddish color. I'm anxious to hear your suggestions.

If you can't get any reliable info anywhere else check with your county extension service or your nearest local garden center. Not something I've seen or heard about before...

How long are those leaves red?
My roses leaf out with red leaves before they turn green and have done so since I can remember growing roses even back in the 1950's.

My roses all have reddish leaves too when they first start growing, like Kimm said. As they grow bigger & get older they turn green.

good info there...

this is rose rosette disease...

I have several roses that get the reddish leaves when the new growth starts... get the same thing on crepe myrtles of certain colors, too.... nothing to worry about there.... but the 'witch's broom' on the disease is a major problem....

Thanks Toots for providing this link. I do NOT have this. I think my friend may and I'll share this info with her. No, I think I over-reacted. I just have red leaves like everyone else's that are red when they first put on. They are turning green - like always - now. This looks like a horrible plague. Thanks to everyone for contributing to this discussion. I know I can always count on you guys.
