Two years back I planted one of those "shaker" gardens for instant results (just built house), and every year these come back. They stay green until November, then brown, then new growth by spring. They just bloomed last week, and I think they're are so pretty. I love the color constrast next to my lobelia. Are they really a weed? or do some of those "shaker" kits have perrenials?

    Tell me what you think?

    I look at this way.
If you enjoy the looks & smell of the plant in question, who cares? you're the one who has to "live with it" so to speak, so if you're happy with it, who care? *G*

Just this past weekend I too used one of those wildflower shaker box mixes . . . and on the box it said that there are a mix of annuals an perennials.

    So . . . I'm sure it's possible that your lovelies are perennials . . . or maybe they've self-seeded?

Either way . . . the color looks great! Smile

They are wild flowers and they are beautiful. I love them. Remember a weed is jus a misplaced flower.--it is all in how you look at it. I love the old fashioned violets that people work hard to get out of their yard. I used to trasnplant them in my other garden. I think they are gorgeous.

You're all right...if I like them, then who cares. To be quite honest, I don't feel quite as bad pulling a weed than a perrenial flower.

Can you imagine how it felt "wakin Toots up to a new flower"...OMG!!! I can't stop smiling!

    Thanks for all your responses!

Wow, if they are a weed, they are a nice-looking weed. Whether you know what they are or not, they are pretty.
