I think I am missing something here.
what is this place you get lilies through yahoo co-op? Is that one of their groups. I used to do genealgogy through groups started some others and then lapsed for years. Should I join a garden group? What is it like.?

Jeanne, Thanks for your pics..they are beautiful. I am glad you posted the picture of your Comtesse DeBouchard so I could compare it to mine. When we moved here in 2005, I found a partially broken plant id tag near by and I was never certain if it was that variety or not. Now I'm convinced. I see you have the same metal id tags as we do. I ordered mine from Gardener's Supply. Do you think that one can spray silver paint over the magic marker and then reuse it? Some of my blue salvia never came back this year and I'm stuck with an ID tag and no plant like it says. I thought about getting a can of spray paint and redo it silver, in case I need it for some other plant. Think it will work? Do you buy your clematis locally or order from catalogues? I would love to have another Comtesse de Bouchard right beside the other one, as it has been just beautiful this year.Everybody that comes by comments on it. The siding workman pretty well damaged the Dr. Ruppel but it will get prunned in the fall.Bought another variety(Westerplatte)this summer; seems to have also taken some damage from workmen and some of its leaves are turning brown. Do you think I should prune it this Fall or just leave it as is? Don't know what category it is in, are you familiar with this variety? We had a Nirobe at our other house and it was beautiful but didn't grow that tall on the trellis my husband made. The new owner of our previous house asked me about it recently. I suggested that he might want to move it somewhere else to a lower trellis.
