I planted some tipsy pots today and could not believe how easy it was. I'm simply thrilled.

I'd love to see pics of anyone else who has done these. I want to do some in the backyard with white pots.

The pics are on my blog in my sig.

    Moonlight...Love it!!

I bought a tipsy pot rod thingy (the one that has the base on it) & have yet to set it out.

I still need to get me some pots.
What size pots did you use on yours? I thought about doing a large on on bottom & then staggering up to a smaller one.

    Thanks for sharing!

Hey Mighty Cat, where did you get the one that has a base on it? I found the directions but it was for the one stuck in the ground.

I got one with the base and a decorative top, can put a bird house or what have you on top. I got a Bird and drilled holes to screw it to the top, looks cool if I say so myself. Anyway, got mine at the craft fair that was here a month or so ago. Think I paid $15.00 for mine. Oh and I used a 12" plastic pot on bottom then 4 10" pots on top of that.

I used 1/2 rebar that was 48" long. it cost $2 at Lowe's. I just pounded it into the ground and threaded the pots. I used 6 - 6 inch pots. I do like the idea of trying bigger pots too though.

I'm going to do another one in the back but I'm going to paint the pots first.

I really like yours too Willow. BTW...I used to live in Myrtle Beach...I miss SC!!!

Thanks Moonlight! I took that picture right after I did the pots and they have filled out more now.

I live more middle of the state, Lexington to be exact. I'm not to far from Lake Murray, maybe 3 miles or so.

    Willow:

What is in the second pot from the bottom?? That blue flower is so pretty. I bet they look gorgeous now.

I'm in Missouri now...a far cry from SC....lol.

the blue is Grace Ward Lithodora, a perennial that I will move elsewhere after summer. I had a hard time finding things I wanted so that one and the top are perennials, Brummonds Pink Phlox is in the top. Second one down is Purslane and next is Bacopa both are annuals.
The blue isn't as purty as I would like, dries out to quick but I'm hoping it will fill out better soon.

Is the bar in the center curved to make them so "tipsy"? Where did you buy the "kit"? Thanks!

I thought I had a pic of it before I added any pots but this is the only one I have before all pots were added. Hope you can make it out in this picture. I got mine at a craft show at our fair grounds, not sure where you can find them otherwise.

Thyme: The bar is straight...when you put the pots on they will automatically tilt...it doesn't seem like it, but they do.

I'm planning on doing another one this weekend. I will take pics as I go along.

Thanks for the list of flowers Willow. I wasn't sure what flowers to plant either...so I alternated with some asparagus fern and trailing ivy to give more fullness.

Kelli, where in Missouri are you located? I'm 40 miles northeast of Kansas City!

I love your tipsy pots! I'm going to get the stuff either this evening or tomorrow and make one for myself and one for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day!

I bought mine at a home show in OKC. If you go to Amazingplantstand.biz you can order one. I only paid $25 for mine at the show. He also has smaller ones and different ideas on the site. I bought flowers Sunday to fill mine but it has rained every day since. I'll post whenever I get them in. No, the rod is not curved. You angle the pots on. My directions say to fill the bottom pot about 1/2 full of decorative marble rocks to hold it in place. Each additional pot has some rocks in it for stability.
