I was reading my Mother Earth News, Aug/Sep 2012 issue, and came across something in their "Country Lore" section. One lady has discovered something that seems to work for her to deter unwanted underground critters.... When she discovers a new "hole", she drops some cat po*op into it....the critters leave! She just doesn't use this in her veggie garden areas. Not sure this would work for ground hogs since they get as big or bigger than cats. Who knows, it might be a new solution! mgt, you could do like a cat & cover it up! "The soil is the source of life, creativity, culture and real independence." David Ben-Gurion

I'm thinking they might leave that particular stinky hole, but will just create new non-stinky ones. By that reasoning, it wouldn't really solve the problem... Do you think?

I don't know. I don't have either moles or voles down here...our clay is to hard for them to dig in! But I would sure try it if I had a problem with them...then you could find out for sure if it worked for you or not. At least it is safer for the environment than dropping moth balls down the holes like some people do. "The soil is the source of life, creativity, culture and real independence."
