I'm putting in 7 white Azaleas along a privacy fence. I always water with a root stimulant and have had really good luck with it. Is there anything else besides soil amendment I should do when I plant the Azaleas? When should I fertilize them? ~Jean~ in garden zone 6b

Azaleas like acidic soil...just keep that in mind when you choose your fertilizer. DO NOT fertilize until after they bloom and if you are going to prune them...do that right after the bloom too...if you wait until later in the year you will be cutting off next year's blooms! Thank you Karen! That helps. I'm glad you reminded me about not pruning after they've set next years buds. I probably will just leave them alone for a few years till they get established. The Azalias I bought have already lost their blooms. Should I fertilize them later this summer or wait till next spring? ~Jean~ in garden zone 6b
