We had our first frost last night. It is too early for that! Not supposed to happen here for a few more weeks. I spent the day cutting down the sad looking EEs, canna, etc. My brugsmansia was on the verge of blooming yesterday, and today, she was all drooped over. Frown I did cover up a lot of things but there just weren't enough sheets to go around. Anyone else get hit yet?

We are hosting a Halloween party next weekend and I was hoping things would hold out till then. It's amazing how one day something can look so lush and healthy, then you go to bed and wake up the next morning and it is gone. I guess that's the marvel of nature!

We had frost Friday night also. It is early for us too. Some years it does not happen until almost the end of October. That's alright. I will not be saying this in a couple of months but I am done gardening for this year and am glad to get some rest.

Sorry about the frost and your plants Shook. We dodged that bullet earlier this week, thankfully. Waaay too early for us too.

Owie, I hear ya, but I still have a lot of stuff blooming just because we suddenly are getting the rain we didn't get back when the temps were hot and we needed it. I'm ready to be done myself.

I like what Muddy said - Embrace Autumn. I love the colors......and we are beginning to get some around here.

I guess since my garden was a goner anyway, I didn't notice. Thinking about going out and cutting down all the uglyness and getting it covered up with some compost, and hope for a better summer next year. Roll Eyes
