Has anyone used the polymer chrysals in the planting holes during planting? They are supposed to decrease the watering. If I had some I would try them in my new plants that I'll be putting in, but the online sites look kind of expensive. I forgot to ask at Lowes' when I was there this morning if they carry this product.

SSTR - I have never used them. Joy used to use and recommend them all the time. This is because she had resorted to total container gardening due to their age. That's the only experience I've ever had with them. ve

Different Joy here but I've used them for house plants and need to remember to put them in my outdoor containers. They do decrease the frequency of watering and you only need a small amount so the price is not as bad as it may seem. There's lots of good info here telling how they can be used.
