I know it's a beetle of some type but I found a bunch of these in thr ground near my marigolds and salvia that are chewed up by something. I assumed it was snails/slugs so I started digging to see what I could find.

What should I do? I already squiched a bunch but I cna't get to them all and my plants are being eaten by something.

From the pic to me it looks like june bug. My self, I would reach for the tempo and spray them. I am sure there are other options though.

It does look like a June bug, but the June bugs I'm used to around here are too hard to squish, them are hard little suckers. And they usually fly around the lights at night and get caught in my hair!
