I have those and I call them "Balloon Flowers", because of the way the buds appear and then burst open to flower. Mine grow tall and have to be staked but do make a pretty flower.
Think that's it. I grew those for a few summers...a showy pink primrose. Loved them & long blooms. I think I let them get crowded out in my beds. My problem is I want to grow everything I see & everything fights for space! I just hate to break ground on more gardens when I am hardly in condition to care for all that I already have! Sure many can identify with that! Think you will love those ~ I remember moving some to another spot but they got crowded out too.
OHH right. From now on if it's pink ask Muddy. It's in my neighboer's rock garden but they don't know what it is either!! Thanks Muddy!!This message has been edited. Last edited by: Sorie10,

I know for sure what that is because I planted it a year ago and it's now taking over everything. It's called Oenothera "Siskiyou", or as Muddy said, "Evening Primrose".
It grows like crazy in full sun and although it's pretty, it's very invasive.

It doesn't seem to be very invasive here. It's been in their rock garden for several yr and not grown much. I've had the yellow in my garden but it gets huge and reseeds a lot. None came up this yr. which is surprising!Maybe birds or something got the seeds! Yeah!!!This message has been edited. Last edited by: silly bird,
