Fla. Farm Girl told me about Tallahassee Nursery last year and I FINALLY visited it today. I had DH with me so I only stayed about an hour but I didn't even come close to covering it....I "might" have gotten thru 1/3 of it. If it grows in the south, they have it...if they don't have it, you don't need it! And the plants look healthy and well cared for! And POTS, OMG! All over the place. One was even a giant pot like one of those strawberry or hens/chicks pots...I had to stand on tip toes to see into it & I'm 5'7" tall! There wasn't any price on it...but I'll bet it was over $1000! It might have even needed 1/2 ton of dirt to fill it???
Most of the plant prices were either reasonable or a bit lower than other nurseries I've visited, so that made me happy & I only spent $37! If I ever win the lottery, I'm going back with a semi!
I got an azalea, I had one die, it's pretty good sized for being in a 1 gal. pot.
2 plumbagos
2 lily of the nile, one blue & one white(multipule in each pot)
1 strange looking salvia
1 of something I forgot but starts with "p" pent.....?

Penstemon?
Lucky you!
I visited our local nursery last weekend and spent a lot more on just a few plants.
It's so easy to go overboard!

Karen, it was likely pentas. They are great butterfly and hummer magnets. I need to replace one that up and died on me.

Glad you finally got over there. Next trip, try the Native Plant Nursery too!

Yes, it is a penta!
VE, we are a bit of a ways off! It's about 70 mi. one way to the garden center...maybe a little more, but DH has to go down there for VA clinic appointments. Of course, men rarely notice nurserys so he had no idea it was there & used to pass by it every day years ago when he was working construction in the area.
And yes FFG, the Native Plant nursery will be next and I may just do a trip all by my lonesome so that I can spend more time looking! That will depend on gas prices!!!
