Deck before - I so hated it.

I stained it a lighter green & I am doing a happy dance! It took 2 days & was quite a job in the heat but I just love it!

I love the soft green color! Does wood need to be stained annually? DH is building me a pergola with pressure treated wood. I was hoping to stain the rafters a natural redwood or cedar color. I didn't anticipate staining it every year, and how would I do that once the wisteria is covering it??

Shook I'm not sure. I just know when I used deck stain before in a year it was gone. Our chairs have been stained green for several years & are doing fine.

I like that! I know it must have been a huge job, but worth it.

I've never stained a deck floor but I used a white stain on wooden deck spindles in my old house and they looked great. I used an opaque white and several years later they still look great. Much better than using paint which will peel.

Hopefully the stain will hold up well on the deck flooring too.

I was going to say what is there to not like about your deck? But now I see that the green sets it off perfectly!! Nice!!!

My Dog I do hope it holds up & doesn't peel. That's why I was hesitant to do it.

It looks a lot better....I love it. I've been thinking about staining the deck in the Gazebo....but it will have to wait till it gets cooler.

Thanks z9alady! Don't let it get too cool as it dries better when it hot. I stained my gazebo floor several years ago & love it.
