Mine aren't doing very well this year...we have been tooooo dry! So I started some more. I'll try planting them in a different spot to see what happens.

Silly Bird, thank you for posting your pix...I have never seen this vine. Does it have blooms that look like Sweet Pea or is there a mix here in your picture? I'd love to try to get this vine going in my yard too. Can you try to gather seeds/save for me please?
I am so glad you explained who you are/I knew you from your previous signup name but hadn't been here much so didn't realize the change. Good to see/hear from you again.

ladeuce, yes, the blooms look a lot like a sweet pea. And the butterflies & hummers like the blooms. The pods are just amazing.
After you get one started, let the pods start drying on the vine before you pick them...you can tell, the pod will start to twist/turn and start loosing it's color.
I'll check to see if I have any extra seeds, I'm not sure. If I do, I have your addy! ((big grin))

Ladeuce the pruple pods are the ones karen is talking about in the pic. Sorry I don't have any seeds sent them all to DS.
If Karen doesn't have any I'll be happy to save you some this fall. Heck I may even stop and drop them to you on the way to Aunt's house in Ks. You are right on the way. We go Thanksgiving!!

I found some. They are from 2010 but I think they are still good.
Plant them when you get them...be aware that the vines "can" get up to 20' long but mine only get about 8-10'! I don't think they got that long for silly bird. Just be sure to save some seeds for next year cause they are annuals. And they will look a lot like green beans when they come up!
