Yikes!!!! Flew in the HOUSE!! I told DH~~You girls love a good bug to ID! Glad he didn't totally smash it! Poor thing! Anyone know?

Guessing a type of mud dabber, or as we call them in the south, dirt dobber. The red belly band is interesting though.

This will not help much, but I've seen that "wasp" before.
The link that Toots posted is interesting. There is a moth that looks just like it, except for the antenae and the "tail".

Yep~~ (HUGS!) Hey, seems to be a beneficial insect that hangs out in woodlands & feeds on of all things beetle larvae (!!) Have plenty of that! LOL~~~ & grubs! Grubs are eating up all the lawns on my street! So figures DH would KILL him! OMG
