Rained here Fri. & Sat. for a total of 5 1/4" from those 2 days. Started again last night just before midnight and hasn't stopped yet. I did a QUICK rain gauge run a few minutes ago, over 3" already.
There is a small shallow pond on TOP of our hill...about 1-2" deep.
Flash flood warnings/watches have been out since Fri. and surrounding counties are having problems already.

Yes, Karen, I'm still afloat but it's getting WET down here. This kind of weather is the only time I'm grateful for this bed of sand that I live on. We don't have much standing water.

Thus far we've gotten about 8 inches total and its still raining. We expect more all day and tonight.

I'm sure some of the lower lying areas are quite waterlogged by now and the streams are overflowing. How are the ponds and streams doing up you way?

Goodness girls, I had no idea that y'all were getting drenched. We would welcome that much moisture in July and August wouldn't we.

Hoping y'all stay safe and dry with no storms or floods.

Yes, I'd much rather it was spread out over time a bit.
I ran out shortly after my first post and emptied the rain gauge so it wouldn't run over...3 3/4"...so a total of 9" since Fri. afternoon and still raining!
I hope some of these farm ponds get filled up!

Good grief - 9 inches already since Friday. That's a whole lotta rain. Got gopher wood?

It finally quit, until later, around 5pm. Another 1 1/2" in the rain gauge...total 10 1/2" since Fri. afternoon. And now the wind has picked up.
The next county to our north has 40 roads closed due to flooding. LOTS of areas flooded! A lot of school buses won't run tomorrow. Some roads crumbled/washed out.

This is almost as bad as when tropical storm Faye sat on top of us, we got 12" that time. Don't remember the name of the tropical depression that sat on us in '94 and flooded a good part of Albany plus most of the rest of this area. Due to the Flint River running through the middle of Albany, you couldn't get from one side of town to the other...unless you spent over 7 hrs. going around on some narrow 2 lane back roads.

LOL, Vera!!!!! Karen, if I recall right, Noah built the ark from gopher wood. This keeps up, we might need to find some!

I'm hoping this will have passed through by tomorrow morning. I'll check and see how much more has come down then. It's raining steadily outside now.

WOW hope you ladies are still doing ok. That's a lot of rain!!
We got 11" of much needed snow. With good moisture. First good moisture we've had all winter.

LOL - can't believe that GaKaren didn't know about Gopher wood...FFG, you nailed it.

GaKaren...I believe we have a connection, if it's the same River. Flint River runs through Fayetteville & our part of Lincoln County. The lower lying areas often get flooded.

I hope everyone stays safe....high water scares me more than anything I think.

We had overnight rain and still some on and off from that same system. Ours is supposed to end mid-morning with a dramatic drop in temps and snow flurries by Thursday.

Hey, it's not raining outside!!! I dumped another 1 1/2 inches this morning. I'm ready for a break from rain. I know, I know. We needed it for sure, but we are caught up for at least a week or so!!

I'm thinking Karen will wind up with considerably more than us.

Drum roll, please....our total out of all this mess....12 3/4"!
No school yesterday or today for most in several surrounding counties. LOTS of roads closed, many washed out. Lots of low lying subdivisions & mobile home parks are flooded. Creeks & rivers still rising, said they won't crest for a couple more days.
Everyone was told to stay off the roads if at all possible today.
At least the wind they had predicted didn't happen or we would have had major trees down too.
Thank goodness we built on a hill...rising water scares me too!

That's a lot of rain. We got the tail end of what went over ya'll. Just some constant rain all day yesterday. No washout though.
Geez we had that last summer...we are just about back to normal with the ponds. We got 23" of rain in June 2012.

I went to town today, I had errands that I'd put off due to all the rain. There are a couple of small ponds along the road, they were close to going over their dams. But the larger ponds, like 1 acre or more, were still down some but not near like they were last week.
I had to do some detours in town as there are still streets closed with water over them. Still a lot of roads closed too...our paper said about 24 roads in our county.
Now we are getting cold again! This yo-yo is getting old! I'm ready for warmer weather....not hot, just warmer.

Z9, I remember your pics from last year. Ya'al had it bad too!
Wonder what the future will bring with our climate changes???

All the rivers between home and Lake City are way over their banks. The Suwanee however is well inside its banks. They told us that it was just about totally dry and even though it has come up 8 feet, its still well within the banks.
