Love that verbascum. That's a new one for me. You get so many different and beautiful birds in your yard.

Beautiful pictures! Those little Hummingbirds are so stinkin' cute!

What area do you live in? I'm not familiar with Verbascum but I'd love to grow some if I can. They are beautiful!

Such cute shots!
What kind of camera are you using again? Mine never gets that nice of a shot unless it's REAL close and NOT MOVING!

Still looking for hummingbirds here. I haven't seen any in a while. Not at my feeder, nor my plants!

I used to have a yellow/red verbascum but haven't seen it in a few years. It did reseed in other places for several years. Now I just have the wild ones that grow by themselves. Love the fuzzy leaves!

Great pics as usual Muddy--love the hummers! I know that something is using the feeder but I haven't seen them yet! Got a new hummer feeder since I had one like yours with the yellow bee guards, but they fall off for me and I can't find them in the daylilies below. How do you get such good shots, spill your secrets!

What cute photos of lil'hummie! That verbascum is so different and gorgeous!

We have those red-headed woodpeckers too...but I could never get so close as to see the moss on him, how do you get those shots? Telephoto lens?

All great shots as usual Muddy!

zone9, that's a male red bellied wood p e c ker. The red-headed one, the entire head is red and the body is solid white & black areas.

You're right, I've seen all three here, the Red Headed...which is so striking, the spotted one (where's his red belly?) Confused and the huge pileated woodpecker.

Just goes to show, you can't rely on Google for correct bird I.D.'s Red Face

The guy with the red head and moss all over him is a flicker, not a wood peck er

What great 'Close Ups' really!!! Amazing, looks like it's right outside your window! (or did you tip toe outside to snap that picture of the hummer?) Terrific picture! I don't think I've ever seen a Hummer in person (let alone so up close and personal!) Thanks for sharing! You do take the best critter pics ever!

Wavie, what's really neat is when you're standing still in your yard with a red shirt or hat on and the hummingbirds come and hover right next to you thinking you are a big flower....they're eyesight isn't that sharp.

One day I heard a loud hum above my head and I slowly looked up to see a cutie literally 10 inches from my face.
