This is what is blooming here in Michigan. It is a wonder, given the heat here, plants are not used to it for so long. It is NOT a tropical state! This is a dark lady dahlia....just LOVE dahlias! This message has been edited. Last edited by: CynthiaJoy,

Sorie10, I plant them about every two weeks, so they bloom for quite a while. Not each plant, but succeeding plantings......different colors.

Very nice!!! Need to snap some pics of mine too! Did you start those Dahlia from seed? Some of the newer glads these days are just striking!

Your pics are so nice. I have 2 dahlias this year.. a dark purple one & a yellow one. Boss gave them to me after we couldn't sell them anymore. They're getting huge & the purple has started to flower...the yellow is getting buds.
I haven't planted glads for a few years. They're kind of expensive here so I used to get the mixed bag & most of them were the salmon color. Not my favorite color so I quit buying them.

Love dahlias too! Very nice pic Mine need feeding, we water so much I think that it washes out all the fertilizer. I grow them in large pots. Love the red.

No, not from seeds, from a bag of tubers from my local garden shop. They are growing in a chimney pipe and a crushed bucket...never throw anything away......

Yes, let's see MORE photos...sometimes this site is like looking at a garden magazine.....Garden Gate comes to mind, but without the advertisements!

that dahlia is gorgeous and so is the glad. Wow, such great color.
I agree about this site being like a garden magazine.
